Resolved Question: Are there any retro 90's clubs/bars in Liverpool and what is the best one?

I used to be a serious 'clubber' in the 90's - dancing the night away to the likes of Baby D, Haddaway, Culture Beat, Strike, N-Trance etc etc etc. However have not been clubbing for quite a while (met my wife, got married etc) Anyway, I'd love to take her clubbing around Liverpool and it would be great to take her somewhere that plays the 90's club classics as she was also a clubber in the 90's herself. Can anyone recommend a popular 90's retro club in Liverpool or at least a popular club that plays lots of stuff from the 80's/90's? Your views are very much appreciated. Thanks. PS: I used to also enjoy the "L2" on a Friday night (70's night) It was a very tacky place with garden furniture, plastic pint glasses and big wigs with music from ABBA, Grease etc but it was a fun night enjoyed by all. Anyone know if it's still open and has the 70's night? more

Resolved Question: Todays music sucks, 80s music rules, who agrees?

All I heard about it how Nirvana came along and changed music forever. How they came on the scene and destroyed hair bands and metal. How Kurt Cobain was a legend and awesome. Well here is a news flash kids, Nirvana wasn't the first grunge band, they were just the first one to take off and hit it big, therefore meaning they didn't really change anything, they just did something other bands were starting to do. People go on and on about the Seattle Grunge scene, well guess what, Nirvana was formed in 1987, in Aberdeen, Washington. 3 years earlier, Soundgarden was formed, in SEATTLE WASHINGTON. So yeah, already, Nirvana was 3 years late to the party. Anyways, the real point of this is going back to what I first mentioned, how people constantly state how Nirvana killed hair bands and all that hooplah. Well to that I gotta say pick up your local paper and check out concerts headed your way. Or just look around online. You will see more hair bands and metal bands touring major venues while there are now grunge bands, anywhere, to be found. Grunge died. Hair bands live on. As does Metal. Grunge is the same thing as the bullshit we are dealing with today. Emo. And all these other shitty rock bands. Music today is boring. No passion, no fun, nothing. Remember back when band members would get arrested and how awesome and fun it would be when they would talk about it and not just care? That was rock n roll. Today someone is arrested and they're all sorry about it and sad and depressed. Remember when bands would glue hotel furniture to ceilings and ride motorcycles down hallways? Yeah, no one does that today. Todays bands are boring. And useless. On top of that, their music sucks. I mean Axl Rose cancelled shows, stormed off stages, no showed concerts, all kinds of shit, but hey, that was rock n roll. Today no one does that. There is nothing exciting in music today. Just boredom and shitty bands that no one will remember in 5 years. Then we got people like Kid Rock, and Lars Ulrich bitching and moaning about people stealing music. If we went back to the 60s, and Jimi Hendrix, and Jim Morrison found out that people were stealing their music, they wouldn't give a shit. You know why? They are what is missing from music today. Artists who care about nothing but their music, and people hearing their music. That's it. Today it is all about fame and fortune. Musical talent comes last. Back then musicians only cared about their music being heard, and did it because they loved it. Today it's a group of guys put together because they seem like they would be good together and are products of record labels. In the end, Nirvana didn't kill off bands, or kill off types of music, instead they killed the fun. Thanks for nothing Nirvana. Soundgarden, Alice In Chains, and Pearl Jam were all much better bands anyways. more

Resolved Question: here is an old groaner to make you grin or groan?

John met his old school mate after fifteen years and asked him how he was getting on. His mate Bob said he was doing alright. He was in great demand for his skills in I T as he had patented several computer related modules like voice recognition circuits among other things. John said that that was very interesting as he himself liked working on his computer. Bob said if he really wanted to see some things he had done to come with him to his apartment. So off they went and soon arrived at a tower block of flats and Bob lent near the microphone in the wall and said, " Voice recognition code 7040" A metallic voice answered, " Affirmative! Proceed" Bob said " Door open" and the door opened. John was impressed. " It only works for those who have had their voices entered nobody else can get in" They crossed to the lift and again Bob said into the microphone "Voice recognition code 7040" and the lift came and the doors opened and they entered. The doors closed behind them, and John asked where the floor buttons were. Bob said it was all done by voice the computer recognised the voice and automatically took you to your floor. A metallic voice informed them that they were at the penthouse suite and the doors opened directly into the apartment. John was even more impressed. Bob then began to show John what innovative things he had done. He walked into the kitchen area and said " Kettle fill and boil water." There was a noise of water running and shortly after the noise of the kettle boiling. " Tea or coffee John?" John said he preferred coffee, milk, two sugars. Bob gave the instructions and two coffees appeared and they carried their drinks into the lounge area. Bob spoke as he walked into the area "TV on Channel Sky Sports one" The TV came on and displayed Sky sports one. " Blinds close" said Bob as the screen was affected by the sunlight. " Chair turn thirty degrees to the left" and the chair aligned itself perfectly for viewing the tv. "Volume increase two notches and the tv made itself heard. John was mightily impressed and asked Bob if his voice could be made to direct the furniture etc. Bob said it could it would only take a couple of minutes if he followed what he told him. Bob spoke to the computer saying to activate voice recognition module. The computer acknowledged and Bob told John to say the line-- The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog--- The computer acknowledged and informed them recognition was complete so John tried it out. "Bedroom door open" it opened . " Bedroom door close" it closed. "Window open six degrees" it opened slightly. "Window open fifty degrees" it opened more fully and the wind howled through. " Window close" and the wind subsided as it closed. He turned his attention to the furniture. "Chair turn 360 degrees" and the chair turned a full circle. " Settee make into a corner unit" the settee obliged " Lights on" and the whole room was illuminated. " Half lights out" and half of the lights went out. John was having fun while Bob smiled at his friend. Eventually John decided that he had had enough and sank into the chair and turned to his friend and said------------------------- "WELL BUGGER ME!" and the chair obligedI reckon Froggitt must have sat in the chair more

Resolved Question: Can you think of some activities for an 11 year old girl's Birthday party?

This weekend my daughter's having her 11th Birthday party and we need more fun games and activities for her age group. We are using a meeting room about the size of a very big front room (without the furniture). We have use of tables and chairs and access to water. There will be 14 girls aged 9-11. I'm a bit skint so I'd really like to hear about some activities without prizes as well as games. Please help me with some good ideas. ThanksI should've said- she asked me to look up online and ask on here, she has some ideas like the chocolate dice game and balloon stomp and various other things but we just interested in some new ideas- preferably fun non-violent non-anarchic and definitely not involving cannibalism! Thanks more

Resolved Question: Can you help tell me if you think my party will be lame..?

Hi everyone Its my 25th birthday party next weekend. Im fed up going to parties where you arrive drink a bit and nothing happens so I thought how can I have a party that doesnt cost me too much and more importantly my guests any money. I chose not to have a Known theme - as that means my friends have to get costumes for the night. SO... my theme is Naughty or Nice.. ( this is a secret to everyone until arrival), when they come to the door I say are you naughty or nice.. they are then lead into the bedroom where I have lots of red horns devil tails etc for the naughtys and halos, wings, tiaras for the nice . This way it not ruining the outfit they wearing but adding a bit of fun. House decorated with black and red balloons and some pinka nd white ones.. Devil forks and some angel harps.. I have cocktails - black goblets with a red cocktail for naughty and pink goblets with creamy white cocktails I have nibbles, cocktail fountains, punches etc all in the kitchen with chilled music and down the hall in the living room most furniture moved out and disco lights up disco balls etc . this is the disco room. Im playing a mix of 80's classics to cheesy and up to date with gaga etc. After everyone been there for about an hour and half i then announce what the naughty and nice theme is for. I ask for volunteers from each naughty and nice. I got a few games, including musical statues etc .. pass the parcel but when music stops and opens parcel its HUGE granny pants they have to wear, funny dress up teeth, giant glasses etc.. i might throw in some ann sumers style games with prizes. Do you think this is lame.. I think it could either be really fun or it might be a bit weird having games.. im eccentric and my friends know this and i think are expecting something a bit different. THOUGHTS... thanks x more

Resolved Question: Why work when welfare pays well if you ahve no debts?

Me n my partner both lost our jobs. We were workign for years so we have ooodles saved (thankfully,he he!). We also have no debts and only a tiny mortgage (same as a single persons rent on a double room i guess!). Its a humble little cottage my granny left to me (2 large bedrooms) but its in a super part of town, she bought it way back, so it was great. We had great fun doing it up,just the two of us and my dad gave us a gift of money to buy all our furniture. My boyfriend only owes two installments on his car and my car, i own, it was my mums, she actually gave it to me and its only 4yrs old. So we are doing ok. Would hate to have real debt and kids, jeeze that must suck. Anyhow, we are both entiteld to welfare and are getting it right now. It turns out we have actually oodles of money on the welfare!!! We were both thinking why work any more? Any thoughts?Dont get mad. We paid tax for 7 years. the welfare we are getting is security we have paid. We are both going travelling when that stops paying so we are not useless wasters by teh way more

Voting Question: By reading this facebook message, do you think they are planning on having sex?

okay so this is between a 16 year old guy and 16 year old girl, the guy recognized her on the bus and she in his middle school for 1 year and they started talking on facebook. They haven't seen eachother in over 4 years other than on city the bus and never talked in middle school. In the beginning he finds her on fb and randomly messages her, then they just talk about the schools they went to and that she recognized him too, and saw him, and how many times they moved etc. Then after it starts like this: (guy) after talking a few sentences about the schools he went to and where he didnt like going, and how he had to get his own place because his dad was phyco he said lol well we should hang out some time. (girl) yeah lots of ppl there are not my kind of ppl :P i know a few people that go to (school name) seems like a pretty sweet school. **** i wouldn't wanna wake up that earlier! and oh that's not good :( at least you've moved them out of your life.. i wish i was on my own especially lately my mom is being a bigger ***** than normal lol but my family is a lot better than it was before so i guess that's a plus. and yeah for sure do you drink or anything ? (GUY) Yeah waking up was badd but I was pretty determined to go to school lol. I need to graduate! (school name) would be the only option anyways I think, Its not too far from where, just 1 bus and like 3 stops on the skytrain so no big deal. Yeah I drink sometimes but I used to do a bit of dumb **** last year that I won't do again. next weekend if you want I can show you my place and we can drink and just hangout? I haven't gotten drunk since halloween =l (girl) Yeah for sure what day are you free? (guy) weekend or weekday? I don't know what I'm doing all this week and weekend so any day lol. When are you free? (girl) Friday is best! Where abouts do you live? (guy) yeah friday sounds good! is there anything in particular you like drinking? I got a bit but there's a liquor store close to my apt. I live near (street name etc) (girl) m fine with whatever really, do you know (another girl's name)? (guy) no I don't think so lol, who is she? (girl) i thought you might have met her. she just asked what im doing on friday so i was wondering if her and her guy friend could come down with me (guy) umm well to be honest I kind of wanted to just get to know you better =l. .and I just don't really like people coming to my place I don't know or have never met before. hope you understand though! (girl) oh yeah it's okay i understand, i just was wondering cause she asked me :Pi wouldn't want a bunch of ppl i dont know either. would i be staying the night? because if not i gotta find a place to crash. (guy) Yeah it wouldn't be a problem, its 2bedrooms and I got furniture and stuff so I'm obviously not going to let you sleep outside in the rain somewhere lol :P. I'm sure it will be fun though! (girl) alrighty sweet :) and haha i wasn't gonna sleep in the rain i would jsut go over to a friends. i think i might know what apartments you're talking about. a friend used to live up by there. and yeah im sure it'll be fun aswell :):) So by reading all that do you think they are going to or want to have sex?? Me and my friend are looking over it lol, I need your guy's opinions thanks!! lets also say this guy is not the "typical' 16 year old, he looks like he's 25 and very good looking, very big and muscular, and also known as a player in the area he lives in. more

Resolved Question: I live with my girlfriend of two years...?

...but I secretly want to live the single life. I often chat to other women over the internet and sometimes text them. Now, I don't actively sleep with anyone else or even meet up with anyone else, it's sort of just a fantasy. In the past, I have tried to end things with my girlfriend but she never takes me seriously. She says things such as "You wouldn't cope by yourself". I do love her, but I don't think I have any sexual attraction to her and don't think I am in love with her. I do have my own flat, and would love to live there, but I am currently out of work and looking for a job so that I can decorate it as I inherited it after my mum died, and it has no furniture, etc. God, this really sounds terrible written down. I couldn't imagine my life without her, but I feel that I am missing out on fun and going out with different women etc. In case you are wondering, I'm 25, and we are both gay. We have a cat and a dog aswell, and I sometimes feel that things are too settled to change. I suffered depression and still am, haven't lived alone in my life as up until my mum died I lived with her. I sort of want to go and live alone but like I said, my gf never takes me seriously. Agh! Now it's gone into loads of different questions! Basically, what should I do? Should I tell her how I feel? Should I move out? Another key point, I feel: She doesn't sleep with me. Anyways, thanks in advance. I think. :-sWow - thanks so much for your answers so far, and Chelcito that DOES make sense. more

Resolved Question: I'm sexually attracted to a 16 year old and I'm 30, how do I bring up sex?

PLEASE don't just read my headline and insult me without even having a clue of what I'm talking about..I asked this in another category, but would like to see if responses differ in this one. Due to work related reason I had to move to Canada,BC 2and a half weeks ago and will be living there for 6-8 months with a chance I'll be here permanently . I don't know anyone here so I just went onto the craigslist to look for a roommate who had a spare room. I was so lucky and found an ad in a perfect area, Male Seeking roommate in a nice and clean 2 bedroom apartment on 5th floor. I arranged everything and phoned him and then met him the next day, The apartment was beautiful ,there was alot of nice furniture and fairly affordable (550 each) and the guy was real cute and real nice too!and fairly affordable. So I thought this would be perfect and we made an agreement. I think it was the 29th of August I actually moved in. Jamie (my roommate) was living there for the last 3 months and his other roommate had to leave, and couldn't afford a 2 bedroom by himself. We got along from the start real well, Before I moved from the US I wasn't expecting anything at all. He showed me around Vancouver, its actually quite pretty here. I thought he was at least 24 or 25, until we were talking about work and then said he starts school in September and I asked what courses, and then laughed and said I'm in High school;WHICH is when I discovered he was 16. I was actually VERY impressed and couldn't believe he was only 16, but the reason he lives independently is because his father was an alcoholic who he lived with, and his mother was a religious fanatic who turned into a drug addict. He goes to school until 3, goes to the gym everyday, and then straight to his work at a warehouse until 11pm making $13 an hour and comes back home exhausted, pays his own rent and food, and then works again full time on Saturday from Noon and part time on Sunday so I have so much respect for him, and I really do think he's amazing. He resents his parents and does not talk to them, they do not support him in anyway either. I still don't know anyone around here, but he's the one person that I'd love to get to know better and hang out with while I'm living here, he's really interesting and kind but he doesn't have anyone, no brothers, he's all alone basically. Last Weekend, I asked him if he would like to stay home and hang out with me and we could spend all night watching movies together(we both have a good size collection) he seemed pretty happy about the idea and said sure. I was pretty excited I would get to bond with him a little more! That night I had my big blanket out with me on the couch and he was sitting at the very end and seemed a bit shy, I playfully said to come get comfortable with me and we can snuggle!...His face turned red for a sec and he smiled then we ended up cuddling together! The night ended up real fun and we stayed up until 4 before he fell asleep on me which was way too cute. I wasn't really implying anything other than a fun night,Almost from the beginning I felt something hard poking at me, but again I had NO intentions on taking it further. I'm not exactly sure if I have a "crush" on him,but indeed sexy, an extremely gorgeous body and just amazing overall. I just don't see him as a 16 year old, I don't intend on finding another guy while I'm here for a relationship, I'd rather spend time with Jamie and get to know him better because his age doesn't really mean anything to me at this point. To put it simple, when we both are free not working, we are doing stuff together-it just turned out that way.(its almost like HE IS my boyfriend) He's got a real awesome personality as well.On Sunday night he was a bit down and sad, sometimes when he thinks about his parents and how he grew up so fast,I knew, but he didn't say anything..So before we went to bed I grabbed him and gave him a real tight long hug and kissed him on the cheek and said goodnight.(I knew he needed it and I wanted to give it to him). I do know he's a virgin, we've talked about our views on that subject, he hasn't met a girl at school he's liked enough or his age. I've had sex with THREE guys in my life, but a part of me is wanting to get intimate with him eventually, possibly explore a bit beforehand, not now but eventually..It hasn't been that long yet, but after about a month or so I want to ask him about it, how do I bring this subject up with him? How do I bring up this conversation and ask how he feels about me, and when would be the best time? I know it seems crazy,I'm 30, but you would never think he was 16. I just really want to know how to bring this up. Thank you so much.Age in Canada is 16. Nothing that is illegal. If you really don't have anything informative to say other than criticizing me over him being 16, please just don't bother. It is illegal in the US I know that, but in Canada its NOT. more

He's got a real awesome personality as well.On Sunday night he was a bit down and sad, sometimes when he thinks about his parents and how he grew up so fast,I knew, but he didn't say anything..So before we went to bed I grabbed him and gave him a real tight long hug and kissed him on the cheek and said goodnight.(I knew he needed it and I wanted to give it to him). I do know he's a virgin, we've talked about our views on that subject, he hasn't met a girl at school he's liked enough or his age. I've had sex with THREE guys in my life, but a part of me is wanting to get intimate with him eventually, possibly explore a bit beforehand, not now but eventually..It hasn't been that long yet, but after about a month or so I want to ask him about it, how do I bring this subject up with him without making it awkward? How do I bring up this conversation and ask how he feels? I know it seems crazy,I'm 30, but you would never think he was 16. Thank you so much.the law in Canada is 16.My question is soley on the purpose of how I bring it up with him, and how I can talk to him about it. I'll understand and respect his wishes, but I do know there is attraction he is showing towards me but I want to make sure he's ready and don't want to feel guilty about doing it with him. more

Resolved Question: As crazy as it sounds, I want to get closer with a 16 year old but I'm 30?

PLEASE don't just read my headline and insult me without even having a clue of what I'm talking about.. Due to work related reason I had to move to Canada,BC 2and a half weeks ago and will be living there for 6-8 months. That night I had my big blanket out with me on the couch and he was sitting at the very end and seemed a bit shy, I playfully said to come get comfortable with me and we can snuggle!...His face turned red for a sec but we ended up curled up together! The night ended up real fun and we stayed up until 4 before he fell asleep on me which was way too cute. I wasn't really implying anything other than a fun night, I'm not exactly sure if I have a "crush" on him,but indeed sexy, an extremely gorgeous body and just amazing overall. I just don't see him as a 16 year old, I don't intend on finding another guy while I'm here for a relationship, I'd rather spend time with Jamie and get to know him better because his age doesn't really mean anything to me at this point. Thank you so much.I know it all sounds crazy, but the way things are going I would really enjoy doing this with him. He would be my fourth, I haven't been in any sort of relationship within the last 2 years. And no, The LEGAL age in Canada is 16. So I am not breaking any law if anything will happen.I do not know exactly, what it will lead to. Perhaps things can be taken further in the future but I can't say anything 100% at this point. I am sure we are both interested in eachother, On saturday we both went to the PNE which will be going on for 1 more week, and he asked if I wanted to hold his hand. He seems to really enjoy my company as well as I enjoy his. more

I live alone in the UK & am out at work most days but get home for lunch most of the time. Is 1 cat ok or do they need to be in pairs? I want 1 cat only.Young or older? Costs? Vets bills? What if I go on holiday? Can they be put in catteries? Scratching & house training etc? Im worried about my furniture & carpets!! Are they indoor cats or can they go outside? I have a large garden. Some neighbours have cats. Resolved Question: Experienced cat owners please?

It's my cats 1st birthday soon and he's a housecat living on his own when I'm out working every day. I want to get him something to give him hours of fun. I was thinking maybe a big cat scratching post with lots of dangly bits. Only problem is I got him a small one and he never uses it. What do you think of this one, or will it be too small for a full grown cat? Or do you have any other ideas? Thanks. http://www.petsathome.com/find/category-is-1+cat/category-is-1g+furniture/category-is-1g01+activity+centres/product-is-17459#product-detailThanks I'm loving all these ideas, what about the laser toys? I got him one at Christmas but when my sister saw it she said her friend has one and his cat got paranoid after a while because of it, because it would start to imagine it was seeing things everywhere. Has anyone else had that experience? I'd LOVE to get another kitten but I'm worried he'll get jealous....seriously thinking about it... more

Resolved Question: BB10 'no housemates' twist revealed What do you think?

Big Brother's producers have revealed that their will be no "official housemates" on the series ten launch night. Eight men and eight women will enter the compound at 9pm tonight on Channel 4 to compete for the £100,000 prize. However, their first challenge will be to become official housemates. On arrival the hopefuls will be informed that they are not fully fledged contestants and that they have not been granted full access to the Big Brother house. All 16 will have to earn the right to remain on the show. Each applicant will be given specially designed tasks to challenge their "fear and pride". They will not be given access to a bedroom, kitchen or bathroom and will have to survive without their suitcases. Big Brother will provide the contestants with porridge and cold water to survive on. The group's only cleaning facilities are a bath and a tap providing cold water. The only way to get the water in the bath is via a bucket, which has holes at the bottom "Every year on Big Brother, we try to come up with new ideas that will shock and surprise people. So this year, there is literally no furniture. They have crates and barrels to sit on and they will have to sleep on the floor. "Over the course of the first few days, all the hopefuls will have to earn the right to be housemates. There will be various tasks that individuals have to go through. They will range from testing their fears and seeing how stupid they are willing to let themselves look - all the usual Big Brother fun and games. If they fail the task, they will no longer be a housemate." The insider added: "From the very word go, the contestants will have to work. They think they've done the hard bit at auditions, but they will get here and from the very start, try to earn their right to be here. This will hopefully move the goalposts a little bit, because no one will be expecting this on launch night." more

Resolved Question: How can a person be so evil?

One day, out of the blue, my husband of almost three years tells me, "This isn't going to work out." I thought we were very happy. Apparently not. He told me I needed to get my things out of HIS apartment as soon as possible. He even rented me a storage and moved my things into it. (I later found out he ruined my tv when he moved it.) He than got me to sign a paper saying he'd already given me 30 days notice to move out. At this point I am only working part time, with no family to go to, and no savings. I never saw any money. My checks went to his P.O box and he deposited them into a joint account which he paid the bills from. I was then living in a pickup truck that we were making payments on. I then found out that he was dating not one, but TWO 16 year old girls! My husband is 29 years old! Once I found this out he became furious and told me if I didn't return HIS truck to him he would get the police to get it from me. I said ok, go ahead. The police told me since the truck was entirely in his name I had to give it back. He also cancelled my cell phone that day. During the breakup he told me that he hated everything about me. He said he didn't know why he married me and he regretted every minute of it. He said everything he could to hurt me and all the while spoke as if he was stating some commonly known facts. Not like he was angry. Or upset. Just like that was how it was. Towards the end of our marriage, we never had money to go and do anything. I found out it was because he had been spending hundreds of dollars a month on his girlfriends... The day after he threw me out he got a flat screen tv, new couch, all new furniture... I managed to get my mother whom I've never gotten along with to allow me to stay with her for right now. I found the receipts. I now know about all the fun things they are going out and doing and I can't stop thinking about it... The fact that he's sleeping with her right now. That he doesn't care about me at all. Not even a little! HE actually hates ME! He has done all of these horrible terrible things to me and I'm still supposed to function. To go about my day. And not only that! I'm supposed to go out and look for another job! When everyone else in my town is doing the same thing. Even my mother. And while I'm trudging along, barely managing to breathe, I get to run into Nico and his 16 year old girlfriend. Happy and smiling. He can't be hurt. There was nothing I could do to hurt him no matter how hard I tried. All he cared about was removing all traces of me from his life. I went to the police and told them about what I had seen him doing with these girls and they said they would put a detective on him and if he was doing ANYTHING inappropriate that he would go to jail. Well I just saw them together today and he's not in jail. I guess the officer was lying to me. HOW DO PEOPLE LIKE THIS EXIST?I suppose I should have mentioned that I was 16 and he was 25 when we first got together. And this 16 year old girl he is with is MARRIED! That makes her emancipated but I looked it up and in California an emancipated minor can only have sex with her spouse. I am going to try to get a free lawyer or one I can pay back little by little but he... He's so... I can't see him losing at anything. I think if anyone diserves spousal support it's me but Its so hard to find the energy to put into these things. I sent an e-mail to this girl and told her I wasn't mad at her. I said I just want you to know what he has told me about you and about us. I told her that I don't know what he's told you but I want you to know the truth. She wrote me back and said that they were just friends but her husband doesn't care because they are not "commited." And la la la I can think whatever I want. She practically laughed at how hurt I was. She thought this was funny. more

Resolved Question: My bf wants us to move in with his mum to save some money?

I don't know what to do because i lost my job in december and used all my savings pay the rent but now my bank is dry. i just got a new job last week but dont get paid untill end of april because i started at the end of march. our lease runs out on may 16th. he wants us to move out then and live with his mum. her house is very small and he thinks he are going to be able to fit all our furniture and belongings in her office room (there is no chance!!! we have way too much stuff). he wants to stay there until i've made enough money to afford rent and bills again. there is no full time work available atm so i had to take what i could get which is 25 hours a week. we will have to leave our white good appliances behind because they were not ours. its hard to find a flat that already has washer fridge and freezer in it. so realistically when we find a new place after saving some money, ill have to fork out for the white goods as well as a new deposit (approx £600 in this area) and referencing fees (approx £150) as well as a new sofa because he wants to throw that away because it wont fit at his mums for sure. I told him i feel like i am moving into his mums to save up for things that I already have atm because of this! also he is very picky about the flats we live in and refuses to live in average standard flat for a nice ammount of cash, he demands the best standard flat you can get for £550 a month at least. (even though they all turn out to have flaws in anyway). i dont know what to do atm, shall i move with his mum... its going to take me at least 5 months of working to able to afford to re-buy the stuff we already have......... plus its not exactly fun living with your bfs mum is it? my own parents live about 5 hours away. i feel like going home tbh. :( more

Resolved Question: Becoming a big sister?

Hi, I'm Kataya, I'm 13 and I have always been an only child but now my parents are having another baby, my mum is pregnant with a little girl called Tamara Felicity Leigh and I can't wait to be a big sister! Anyway, as I have no experience with young children, (I have never been around them or babysitted for anyone) I have no idea what to expect. I am really close to both my mum and my dad and I don't want that to change. Are they going to be with the new baby 24/7 and always talking about Tamara? Will the baby be screaming throughout the night (I need a lot of sleep, otherwise I get very cranky lol) And what are some fun things I can do with my new baby sister to bond with her, and what sorts of things could I do to help my parents with her? I'm really excited! I have helped plan the bedroom, she has a white crib, light pink walls and butterfly wallpaper on her signature wall and adorable laura ashley furniture..I even bought some toys for her myself and lots of little gifts..I can't wait! So any advice as to how to be a great big sister, and what things will be like at first will really be great! Thanks! Kataya,,x more

Resolved Question: Could you correct my letter, please?

My Darling Karen and Peter, I apologize for being so late writing but as soon as I got back, I had to do loads of things and I’ve been really busy. I’m just writing to say many thanks for inviting me to holiday with you in Torquay. It’s just as well the weather was exceptional and we could do a lot of activities outdoors. I had a marvellous time. I hope so did you. I had never imagined this town could be so beautiful with its Victorian villas and terraces gaze out to sea. It was fantastic to visit Kents Cavern, the beautiful gardens and listen to street musicians entertaining people with everything from opera to jazz. When I got to Alicante I was given some nice news. At last I was going to be independent! My city council had given me a council housing! So I’ve been very busy moving for the last month. I had to paint, buy some furniture and organize my new home. I think my flat looks very lovely in accordance with my personality. But one thing's certain; now I have to work harder at my new home than at my parents’. I had a big house-warming party for my friends and we had a lot of fun but the following day I had to promise my neighbours not to make so fuss next time. I’ll tell you more things another day. Thanks again for everything and I expect you to come to Alicante very soon just as you promised me. Any season is good to visit my city as the sun is almost always shining. Lots of love María PS I enclose a photo of the three of us in Paignton Zoo more

Resolved Question: Why can people be such snobs?

Just because you have money doesn't mean you can't be "seen" in primark or wallmart if ur american lol.my bf can be such a snob he only will wear designer clothes even though he doesn't earn enough for it! and he won't be seen in primark, he will only stay in Hiltons and eat good food. He acts like it's embarressing to have to budget and moans at me because i always choose the cheapest thing on the menu. what makes people like this? why is he making me feel so poor? yet when i call him a snob (if he makes fun of me) he gets SO mad! he HATES me calling me a slob. I feel like he is ashamed of me sometimes. like his family have designer furniture etc even though they don't earn that much! how do i deal with this? do you know anyone like this? thanks :) more

Resolved Question: Destructive nine month old whippet.....?

My whippet is now nine months old. Up until now she is left in her crate whilst I am at work in the mornings then she is walked for an hour at lunch and in the crate again until the evening. I have recently started leaving the crate door open so she can roam around the dining room. (the rest of the house is blocked off.) i figured this would give her more freedom and be better for her. HOWEVER, each time I come home for lunch she has climbed all over the furniture and shredded any bit of paper that she can find. I ideally would love her to be a good little dog and just play with the toys I leave out for her - but obviously paper shredding is more fun! Do you think she is too young to be let out? She is used to being in her crate for this amount of time and seems pretty happy. Advice welcome! ThanksShe is walked in the morning and at lunch, it's dark in England by 5pm at the moment, and I leave lots of toys and chews for her. Resolved Question: does my bf love me or is he just insecure to let me go?

myself and my boyfriend say we love each other and our relationship is definitely quite passionate in every sense. he's my first love and long term boyfriend (ive been with him about 2yrs) and i do sincerely care about him... however im not sure if he is truely my soul mate and im only 19- (hes 22) and sometimes i just want to be single and have time for myself so i tell him we're not working. this drives him crazy and he may end up breaking something (furniture/punching a hole in a door etc) and then reduce to tears telling me he loves me so much and doesn't want me to leave. this of course confuses the hell out of me, how does he love me so much when we do argue..? would it be bad to let such a good thing go if he feels so much for me he reacts like this? he is a very loyal, generous, and faithful boyfriend and he has got a big heart, and he never really looses his temper unless i say i want to leave... but i just don't think hes The One so should i continue in this whirlwind romance (we do have fun still!) or face the music and be honest that we wont be together forever and loose him now? Also, one of his best mates has just started a strong relationship with my best friend!! the double dates would be fun... but should i still stay??? SO CONFUSED!!!! help!! :( xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx more

I want a guinea pig because they look so fun because they are fun and i can take them with me to places, i can leave them at home all day while im at school and not have to worry about if they are going to scratch furniture, but i want a cat too because i love cats and they soooo cute, but im worried they scrath the furniture or i get bored easily as they live for 12 years, can someone tell me about any of their experiences with their guineapig or cat, stories or information on why they are good pets i would be happy to read them. I need to decide because i need to start persuading and pestering my mum for one. Thanks sooooooo much more

Resolved Question: Supermarket fun?

Take shopping carts for the express purpose of filling them and stranding them at strategic locations. Ride those little electronic cars at the front of the store. Set all the alarm clocks to go off at ten minute intervals throughout the day. Start playing Calvinball; see how many people you can get to join in. Contaminate the entire auto department by sampling all the spray air fresheners. Challenge other customers to duels with tubes of gift wrap. Leave cryptic messages on the typewriters. Re-dress the mannequins as you see fit. When there are people behind you, walk REALLY SLOW, especially thin narrow aisles. Tell an employee in an official tone, "I think we've got a Code 3 in Housewares," and see what happens. Tune all the radios to a polka station; then turn them all off and turn the volumes to "10". Play with the automatic doors. Walk up to complete strangers and say, "Hi! I haven't seen you in so long!..." etc. See if they play along. Walking through the clothing department, ask yourself loud enough for all to hear, "Who BUYS this junk, anyway?" Repeat Number 14 in the jewelry department. Ride a display bicycle through the store; claim you're taking it for a "test drive." Follow people through the aisles, staying about five feet away. Continue to do this until they leave the department. Play soccer with a group of friend, using the entire store as your playing field. As the cashier runs your purchases over the scanner, look mesmerized and say, "Wow. Magic!" Put M&M's on layaway. Move "Caution: Wet Floor" signs to carpeted areas. Set up a tent in the camping department; tell others you'll only invite them in if they bring pillows. Test the fishing rods and see what you can "catch" from the other aisles. Ask other customers if they have any Grey Poupon. Drape a blanket around your shoulders and run around saying, "...I'm Batman. Come, Robin--to the Batcave!" Toilet paper as much of the store as possible. Randomly throw things over into neighboring aisles. Play with the calculators so that they all spell "hello" upside down. When someone asks if you need help, begin to cry and ask, "Why won't you people just leave me alone?" When two or three people are walking ahead of you, run between them, yelling, "Red Rover!" Take up an entire aisle in Toys by setting up a full scale battlefield with G.I. Joes vs. the X-Men. Take bets on the battle described above. Nonchalantly "test" the brushes and combs in Cosmetics. Hold indoor shopping cart races. Dart around suspiciously while humming the theme from Mission: Impossible." Attempt to fit into very large gym bags. Attempt to fit others into very large gym bags. Say things like, "Would you be so kind as to direct me to your Twinkies?" Set up a "Valet Parking" sign in front of the store. Two words: "Marco Polo." Leave Cheerios in Lawn and Garden, pillows in the pet food aisle, etc. "Re-alphabetize" the CD's in Electronics. When someone steps away from their cart to look at something, quickly make off with it without saying a word. Relax in the patio furniture until you get kicked out. During announcements over the PA, assume the fetal position and scream, "No, no! It's those voices again!" Pay off layaways fifty cents at a time. Drag a lounge chair on display over to the magazines and relax. If the store has a food court, buy a soft drink; explain that you don't get out much, and ask if they can put a little umbrella in it. more

Resolved Question: How to play the Sims?

Somone has recently bought me the Sims 2 and The Sims Pets to entertain myself at home in between nappy changes and feeds! Trouble is I don't really know how to play it. I've sort of worked some of it out for myself - created a family and "bought" some furniture for their home but not sure what else to do with them. I can't even move around the screen properly. Any advice? I know people have great fun with the Sims but I'm finding it really frustrating! more

Resolved Question: How would you describe an ideal party?

How would you describe an ideal party. Firstly realistic... then whatever. ie House all darkened down with uv lighting and smoake machine and hired disco lights or a laser (all chip in), Drinking games (with non alcoholic chilli based shots fro those too young or dont drink) in the reclining drinking chair room. Make out rooms Various party games like the jelly wrestling pit, mixed motuh to motuh ice cube relay, limbo dancing, strip twister, and something for the girls to cheer us guys on (fairs fair and all that but not a girl so not sure what) etc. A few big guys to keep out trouble makers and people to keep an eye on people having drunk to much... Want it to stay fun. Chilling out in garden with lots of little lights. All carpets rolled up, furniture moved to locked room along with all valuables. People who follow the dont trash house or each other rule. ********** ideally add a band and pool Sound proofing so no hastle with neighboursFancy dress as wellWendy... Think you missed out on the party principles. Ie 1/ Dont trash the house. First the party organisers remove any breakbles or spoilables (makes more room too) Plus you have guests who can go wild but not in a way that will break anything. 2/ Dont trash each other... no fights, nastyness, and that includes no forcing anyone to do stuff inc drink alcohol. As mentioned you can make shots with very hot chilly juice and shots so not seen as soft drinks. 3) Dont trash the house includes no leaving used condoms anywhere but bins wrapped up. 4/ As said some party animals who are big and slightly older to keep things from getting out of control so asholes dont enter or removed and nobody is forcing anyone to do anything they dont want and if anyone is sick they are looked after. Even sound proofing so no bothering neirghbours or invite them over. Other then taht full on frat house toga party Lots of noice, music, shenagans, having fun, pairing upParis Hilton And linsey Lohan are loosers who dont know where to draw the line. No drink driving allowed ... everyone hands over car keys. And more into rock music more

Resolved Question: Oi... get out of my dreams, please.?

I had a dream My home was a very large, slightly run down, single level building 200 yards from the beach with gentle dunes separating the house from the sea. (I wish) Not surprisingly, the inside of the house was untidy and disorganised as is my real home. There were no walls or fences to separate my property from the rest of the world. My problem with this dream was that each time I arrived home, either alone or with a friend, my ‘garden’, my porch (a large covered area with heavy curtains to keep out the sun on blistering hot days) and even my house was littered with strangers who were either picnicking in the dunes, sheltering from the searing sun in my porch or even making themselves comfortable on my sofa. My home was seen as an amenity for all who passed by. Getting them out was not difficult. Some were reluctant to be moved on from the space they had found, after all, it was rather comfortable and their kids were enjoying themselves, but most accepted the fact they had trespassed on someone's else's grounds and left, albeit unenthusiastically. Slowly they all moved on leaving their litter, broken shoes, my rearranged furniture and I was alone again and peace and tranquility was restored. One episode of a dream like this would have been interesting and even fun. I enjoyed the cajoling, the reasoned arguments and even the veiled humorous threats of evisceration if they didn’t leave my home. To repeat the sequence throughout the night was tiring. I’m glad today is saturday. more
