Voting Question: 4WD Help, Need outback 4WD?
I have had it being ripped off by big brands, that all they want to do is make money. A couple of months ago I moved to Australia from the UK and have been driving in the Outback (Basicly dirt track conditions). Its very treacherous with many places to get bogged or steep hills or branches and bushes to drive through. My first car I brought was the Range Rover Sport which I saw alot of people in England driving. Was a fair bit of cash but it was complete and utter rubbish. Its just a luxury car. It can't even handle a bit of rough ground. 2 weeks into driving in the outback the car was dented in many places the engine kept over heating in the 55 degree heat and the tires kept getting a puncture. Worst of all the headlights were a sham, Could hardly see a couple of metres in front. The car also got bogged a few times as the engine was weak. Then I decided to get the new Land Rover which I saw people driving the England Which is basicly also just a luxury 4WD. I'm not even going to bother going into all the problems I had with this one but to cut it to the shortest words possible, the engine lacked some serious power. The amount of times the wheels got bogged in the sand was crazy and the engine just didn't want to work HARD. Land Rover/Range Rover is an absolute sham, There not designed for driving off road at all there just a fashion statement for the rich people who think having a bigger car on the road makes them the boss. Enough of me complaining. I have spent over £150 and 2 brand new 4WD which are now both a wreck and I am getting pretty annoyed as my times getting wasted. I need some suggestions for a serious of road car thats designed for the outback and not for a fashion statement. My budget is max £100k but I would prefer not to pay that much, if its a bit over but good then suggest it anyway. You all probably know awards like the Grammy , Emmy etc are considered the top-most in their fields ( of music and television respectively ) ....... For an actor on the small screen , winning an Emmy award is the highest accolade one can get ...... However when i recently looked over the winners of the past 10 years or so , i found the shows i watched have hardly received any awards ...... Most of them are popular shows like Two and a Half Men ( TAHM ) , My Name is Earl ( MNIE ) , How I Met Your Mother ( HIMYM )...... While HIMYM has won once or twice , they have been in minor categories like Art direction etc. ......... Even 'Friends' , another show i liked , has won only one major Emmy in its 10 years ...... Are me and my children being abused by my husband or am I overreacting? He takes charge all the time...i.e. if we are going on a day out he doesn't discuss where we'd like to go. He decides where we go, despite any suggestions, etc. from me. The only things I get to decide on are the things that I pay for. He doesn't share the tv. If the kids are watching something I have to stick up for them and say it's only fair they finish what they are watching which usually ends up in a row. (He can record programmes he wants to watch). The other week I was distressed because I'd had a bad day ... children playing up etc. and he accused me of crying on purpose to interrupt his tv programme! Sometimes, when I talk to him ... he just replies "mmm", end of, no conversation as if I've just said something of no interest to him whatsoever. If just he and I go out he marches on ahead like he is not with me and I have to tell him to slow down and walk at my pace and he gets annoyed. We went to see a group and I held his hand and he pushed it away (he's not really one for public affection so I prob should have expected that one) When I first met him, he treated me to clothes and I thought how kind he was but thinking about it, was he deciding what I was to wear? I've been feeling lonely, really down, overeating and have put on weight, feeling like packing a bag and running away but I have my children to consider. I was feeling suicidal this winter just gone but didn't get help because I'm too chicken to do anything anyway. If the kids misbehaving, he doesn't just tell them off he will call them names and I can see because he is the way he is, the children are starting to treat me the same! Just this morning he switched my sons wii game off because he didn't get off as soon as he was told and then he physically wrestled him away from the controls which resulted in a tussle between them where he elbowed my son. I asked a question on here about some symptoms my son has and people replied he may have suffered anxiety, abuse so I'm worried my children are damaged now in some way. I am not broken but I know I'm not the person I used to be. When I decided to move in with him I had a serious problem in my home life and now I'm wondering if my whole life has been a sham! Because of the way he's been treating me, I don't want to be intimate and I've tried to tell him he needs to wine and dine me again, etc. but it's not happening. I realise this will now be a catch 22 situation. I don't have any family here and only one friend. You may be thinking that I'm stupid to have let this go on but we've got used to it and it's slowly crept up on us and worsened I think. There are times when he can be kind and thoughtful and a rock in a crisis and he does quite a bit of cooking and does the gardening. He does work just under 6 days a week which probably makes him tired and cranky but I researched on the internet, no matter what stress goes on at work for him, it shouldn't be affecting his home life but it is. I asked him to go to counselling with me but he's flatly refused. Please help me decide what to do! I've spoken to my Mum on the phone about it and she's not offered to help in any way so I'm on my own. Thanks in advance. The pro-pharma group keep propogating that the reason people get better is because we spend more time with patients and they only get better because they beleive they are going to. Consequently anything we do is a sham and worthless. If all is needed is to spend more time with patients, why don't the medical profession do this? If its true that all we do thats better than what your lot do why do we need to train for as long? If its a case of just spending more time and being nice to patients it wouldn't be necessary to train everybody that see's patients that go through the health system as doctors. A years training on case history taking, basic pathologies, soft skills, and laying on of hand would be more than adequate. This would free up so much time for these over stretched doctors....So much so that many of them would actually be redundant!! I can accept that part of my treatments success involves laying my hands on them but everyone knows there is more to it than that including the medical profession. This is why in the UK every initiative to take pressure off Doctors who always complain they are over stretched WHICH HAS NOT COME FROM the doctors them selves has always been met by resistance from doctors. The real iss ue is about power and protecting markets.If all I needed to do was lay hands on people I wouldn't have trained for 4 years. Of course there is always a list of people who need ongoing maintenance treatment periodically because they have underlying conditions such as Osteo-arthritis which needs treatment as it is a degenerative condition. The same could be said for Doctors who prescribe blood pressure meds, statins or warfarin which need repeat prescriptions. Doctors also prescribe anti-biotics with the view of resolving whatever they have prescribed it for. I have been married for 20 years. My husband has always been odd about sex. When we first married I was looking forward to an exciting, adventurous sex life with my new husband. (we did have sex before marriage but I was very young and inexperienced and assumed he was just shy) However he ridiculed my desires and the fact that I feel sex is an expression of your love for someone and would go crazy if he caught me reading about sex even in a magazine. He also doesn't like even the mildest of sex scenes on TV.He refused to talk about our sex life and made me feel inadequate for trying to. As we got older and I grew more confident I tried to tell him the things I liked but he just ignored me or told me he knew what he was doing. I have never had an orgasm with him and he really doesn't care. He is not a good lover and is selfish in bed. He soon lost all interest in sex and we have had times when 8 years would pass by with no sex, despite me begging him to let me know what was wrong. He has never given me an answer. Currently it has been 6 years since we last had sex and 1 year since we kissed. He has been unfaithful numerous times with prostitutes and even expected me to let him see them in return for him having sex with me. Obviously I did not agree. I stayed because I loved him, I wanted our marriage to work and I wanted children. However, ultimatly he refused to have sex enough times for that to happen. He also has never worked, leaving me to be the sole breadwinner and become very ill. I now cannot work for health reasons and am in a lot of debt, which he ran up with me but now refuses to help me pay. He has moved into his parents house which he has inherited and expects me to live there too, miles away from my family and friends. Incidently, he thinks we have a good relationship and that I should be happy. He has also been violent towards me in the past. Please don't suggest counselling for the two of us. He would never do that and I have lost all respect and desire for him. I am only in my 40's, am attractive and young looking and get on well with men. I want to leave him and find a new life with a man who will return all the love I give him. My husband thinks I am cruel and unreasonable. Recently, i downloaded torrents and successfully torrented the files onto my computer, but i noticed they were AVI format and therefore would not open in my iTunes. I have searched high and low for a converter, and while many of them were shams for money, some of them worked only to give me realllly crappy quality videos and took as long as the episode i was converting (30 minutes, sometimes longer). Then, i found Videora, but when i attempted to convert the file, it gave me the error code 10000 meaning the file didnt exist or anything. This happened with other converters too, but i figured it was a glitch of the converter for not being able to read my AVI files so i dismissed them. But Videora seems to be a good program, so now i am just stumped.
