Open Question: Need advice on buying an air bed?
I need to buy one immediately for permanent use in a tent, and I would like to know your opinion on a few things. 1 - Are they really that comfortable? 2 - How heavy are they generally? 3 - Are self inflatable mattresses better or worse than those that are pumped manually? 4 - Anything else I should know/be aware of? * - Thank you. moreResolved Question: i just bought a 300 yr old bed but the full new mattress is 2" wider?

For the last couple months, I have been waking up with neck pain. Throughout the day, I may (or may not) get occasional waves of head pain across my left and (sometimes) right temple and above my eyebrows. They aren't headaches as I would define it, just waves of pain, that may last seconds or minutes and then go away. However, when I arch my neck all the way back, or turn all the way to my right or left, I have neck pain. Every morning I wake up I am uncomfortable. I have tried buying new pillows. I am a chronic side sleeper so I have no idea how that impacts my situation. Right now, I am sleeping on a tempur pedic mattress with a memory foam pillow. I really need some relief. Any ideas how I might fix this? moreOpen Question: What are my chances of reinfecting myself with scabies?
I cleaned all recently worn clothing in hot water and dryer for an hour, cleaned all my towels and bedding the same way. I vacuumed my carpets AND couches twice and threw out the vacuum bag. I cleaned all bathroom surfaces and door handles with disinfectant spray and i put all stuffed animals and pillows in the dryer. I used Lindane lotion (as prescribed by doctor) for about 9 hours then washed it off and rewashed those towels, the other members of my house also used the lotion and I bought sulfur 10% soap bars to bathe with. Do i really need to buy a mattress cover? Or is that not necessary, I sleep alone. What are my chances? Because I am really paranoid now , do I need to wash my bedding EVERYDAY? Apparently I got scabies at the gym because of the aerobics mats, so I'll be buying my own and wear long pants. Am I in the clear? Or am I going to be doomed to this annoying little pest forever? I have to say, if you ever have to stay at APGs temporary lodging for more than a month, it's not worth it. The husband and I had to stay in the pet friendly rooms which is the furthest building away. Our dog is small and very house broken, he is obedient and will hold urges until we take him out -- regardless, they asked us to cage our dog if we had to leave (he's only 17 lbs). We decided to just leave him in one of the back bedrooms of the small smokey two bedroom apartment. One day when the maid came, I said she can clean while I did some work on my laptop (it was just me there at the time) and it wasn't much to clean, we didn't even use their beds... and she said "uh we don't do that while you're here". I told her to just change the trash and leave. A day later we had note saying they will be there to clean since we left the do not disturb sign on the door. The rooms smelled of smoke (although they stress no smoking) and the heat is controlled -- it will stay blasting and you have to turn on the AC or open the windows in the winter time. We used our own air mattress, sheets, pillows and towels instead of their beds and towels. They provided us with two bedrooms and a kitchen with unfinished cabinets, the inside had splinters all over it. Needless to say we bought our own paper dishes and cups. The rooms are all circa 1970's we laid sheets down on the couch and sprayed Lysol over the chairs. We had to do the same when we asked to change rooms. The shower was at least clean. They charge an arm and a leg, at least the laundry room is free but not the best. Now, my family and I are going to rent something until we find a decent place to live b/c it is way over priced. moreOpen Question: Question about Memory Foam topper -- don't know what to get?
I am moving into a new apartment and trading in my full size bed for the my parent's spare queen bed. I prefer a softer, plush mattresses and the queen is not that. It is almost brand new (about a year and half old) and isn't used much. I sleep on it when I go home to visit and I had to buy 2 three-inch thick feather-bed toppers to make it comfy -- they worked (made it comfy) but since I slept in the middle they now have flattened in the middle and are very lumpy and uncomfortable. I want something that will be soft and plush and have decided to try a memory foam topper since I love the feel and am fairly confident that I can get a good deal. My question concerns the density... I've done a little bit of research but I'm still confused. I know I want/need something that is 3 inches thick or more to make a difference on a firm bed... what I don't know about it density... I want something soft and supportive but not firm... I want to feel like I'm sleeping in a cloud. I have heard so many conflicting opinions and I don't know what density to get. 3 lbs? 4 lbs? 2 lbs? Help! moreResolved Question: Okay, slight panic... I can't remember what I need?
I can't remember all the stuff I need to get for the baby. I had my shower, but everyone bought clothes - last time, some people remembered the other 'essentials'. I have enough clothes to last him roughly six months, onesies, socks, diapers for about a month and a boppy pillow. I have a 2-yr old so still have wipes in the house. What I remember I'll need: - Baby's toiletries - Bottles (will be breastfeeding, but I'll have them on hand in case I want to express) - Crib (on order) - Crib mattress and bedding - Pacifiers - Diaper bag and here I get stuck... lol... for the life of me, I can't think what else we'll need! And to think I've had one already. I'm almost 35 weeks, and I'm going shopping for the last stuff next week. What am I missing? We only kept my son's stroller/travel system (with the car seat)... we didn't think we'd have any more kids so we gave everything else away or to charity. We are starting from scratch again. moreVoting Question: UNCOMFORTABLE new mattress...HELP!?
We just bought a new king size Serta firm pillow top mattress, and it feels so weird. First of all, it feels like there is a lump or hump in the center of the bed, so I am lying "uphill" when I'm facing inward and 'downhill" when I'm facing the outside. Also, my head seems to be slightly lower than my body, and my feet almost feel like they're sticking up, barely resting on the mattress. We have a platform bed so there is no box spring, only a solid, level surface. Is this normal in a new, firm pillow top? My husband and I had the same mattress for 15 years so I'm not sure if I'm just adjusting and imagining things or if it's actually defective! My husband is currently in Afghanistan so I am in it alone with no other opinion...I have 30 days to exchange it, but I'm not sure if this is normal adjustment and I'll be fine, or what. Any input or similar experience would be greatly appreciated! moreResolved Question: what is the best form of self protection?
I've recently moved out on my own and i'm hating it. growing up i was the youngest and only girl. I had 4 brothers a mom and dad, dogs, cats just a house full of noise. Now i'm living alone w/ 2 cats, and its so scary. Every noise at night scares me. I've even had to move my mattress out in the living room. When it was in the bedroom i would lay there all night and just wait for someone to break in rape me and kill me! i know, my imagination is way out of control. So my question is whats the best form of home protection, with the exception of buying a gun. I'm not comfortable with that. I highly doubt i would be able to shot anyone. I was thinking of a bat or maybe one of those taser guns that shot those things out at people. How do i go about buying one? do i have to get a license? Don't get me wrong, I dont live in a bad neighborhood. But i do live on a busy street in the front of the complex next to a gas station. So there's always noise.lol geez an axe! hahaha i didnt even think of that! moreVoting Question: How do you keep the sheets on the crib mattress?
Every morning, I have to put the fitted sheet back on my son's crib mattress. I don't doubt that it is because he moves a lot in his sleep because it never used to happen when he was a baby. Is there some trick to keeping the sheet on the mattress? Sometimes in the middle of the night, my son will wake up because he's hit the cool mattress where the sheet came off. Any tips..or do we just suck it up...or buy new sheets maybe? It happens to each one we've put on but they have been used since he was newborn. He is 21 months now. moreVoting Question: My new queen size platform bed is too big for my new queen size mattress?
I just bought a new platform bed, a queen size, from American Mattress and I got a Simmons Beauty Rest mattress from a private furniture store. I received the mattress first and a few days later the bed arrived and was installed. When I put the mattress on, the width is correct but there are about 4 inches of extra space left in front (or behind) of the mattress. It is driving me crazy as I currently have three pillows stuffed in the extra space. What gives? Aren't these darn things supposed to be standardized so that a queen fits a queen bed etc? Any advice? I wasn't thinking to call the store who sold me the platform bed and complain but it is already assembled in my house. The mattress is the correct 60" by 80" that a queen is suppose to be. moreVoting Question: A legal question, are we liable?
I am a manager of a furniture store. Today a customer came in to buy a mattress and box spring. I gave her the price that included delivery. She wanted a queen sized mattress and box for a third floor apartment. I told her that a regular box spring would not be able to go to a third floor apartment. I offered the customer the option of a split box. She choose the queen box. She said if it did not fit, she would break it. I again told her that a split was available, and told her the price. She called me after delivery to complain that my delivery men had made holes in her walls trying to get the box upstairs. When my guys returned to the store, they informed me that they told her several times that it would not fit, but she insisted that they continue to push. She even assisted in the pushing. The result was holes in her walls and she feels that the company is responsible for the holes. They also informed her that forcing was causing holes in the walls and she replied " I don't care'. Upon leaving, the delivery men informed her that they was taking the box spring back to the store and she could come for a refund. She refused and told them to leave the box on the 2nd floor. So they delivered the mattress to the 3rd floor and left the box on the 2nd floor at the customers request. Now the customer thinks we should be responsible for the wall damage. moreVoting Question: My rights to the abandoned bed? Friend Problems?
My friend decided to move to Australia permanently. I am currently living in her old room right now. She left her queen sized bed set here. I only use the mattress and the frame is pretty much disassembled and just taking up room. She has been gone for about 8 months and hasn't mentioned anything to me about it. I know she tried to sell it for a while 8 months ago but for the price she bought it for (even though it is used). I want to sell it and just be done with it because I am planning on moving in about 4 months and my new place wont have room for it. I messaged her asking if I could sell it for pretty much what its worth used and she messaged me back saying "its worth more" and "do whatever you want and let me know" but I am not sure what to do. She seemed upset but I don't understand why she would be if she is literally across the world and not planning on coming back. She hasn't even thought about the bed until I brought it up. I had to ask because its not my bed but now I don't know what to do. Advice? moreVoting Question: Where to buy a wedge insert to put between mattress and box spring to keep mattress up on an angle?

ok, well im a 13 year old girl (and a very unfortunate one also....) i have one brother..hes 11....and i have been looking back, and i realize that..my parents treat us VERY different....here are some examples: - he has NO chores...at all...we live on a farm...i feed the chickens, the cow, the horses, and the cats and dog. plus many more -i found out that my parents have secretly been putting extra money into his savings account (an extra 25$ a week!!) -they buy him everything he asks for....he got a brand new trumpet....i got my USED trombone for 100$ off of ebay... -my parents gave him the bigger bedroom...and the bigger bed... -they got my bed and mattress at a garage sale for like 20$ from a drunk guy..they bought my brother a really expensive one (from some well known company) -i have been asking my parents if i could have a new pair of tennis shoes...mine are way to small, since i have had them for almost 3 years...they won't buy me any...but they can get my brother new snowboarding boots for over 100$ -they let him get a (300$) season pass for a local ski hill (powder ridge) and they bought all his supplies for it (snowboard, boots, expensive gloves and hat..ect. -they always show up to all of his concerts...they missed the spelling bee when i was in it... these may not sound important to you, but they show me that i think i am being treated unfairly....my brother is spoiled.... and another thing: i told my parents about what i think and their exact words were: "of course its fair!!! i don't pick favorites!!!!" my mom said that.... my dad said this: "YOUR the spoiled one around here!!!! poor David..i missed the first 10 minutes of his concert...YOU need to get your act together and act your age!!!!!" and i never yelled at them..at all! i was very calm and tried to be polite... does all this sound unfair? what should i do? and i can't go to a counceler....thats only for the older kids... moreResolved Question: how to do a backhandspring?

Would you ever buy your kids a crappy mattress? I had this friend back when I was in 9th/10th grade and her and her brother both got new mattresses, I swear her parents just chiseled out some side walk and wrapped it in cloth... We are in desperate need of a new mattress. I'm dying to get a good (comfortable) night's sleep. I don't want to buy one that I end up hating... What is the most you would be willing to spend on a mattress? moreVoting Question: How do I tell my boyfriend that I dont want his dog sleeping on the bed or being allowed on the bed at all?
My boyfriend and I have been together for about a year and a half, and for about 8 months now, his big black lab has been sleeping on the bed with him. He got the dog after we were together, so I was there before he got the dog, so its not like im trying to change things before me. In the beginning when we first got together, we went out and chose and comforter set together and a memory foam mattress. I felt really special when we were able to pick out our beds and bedding, but now the bed is stained from dog pee and there is dog hair everywhere. The comforter set is ripped because of the dog and I just dont feel that the bed is anything special anymore because of how he allowed the dog to tear it up and pee on it. I think that in a relationship, the bed is a sanctuary, a place where you can share your feelings and cuddle, but now everytime I even sit on the bed, I feel disgusted because everything is so dirty, but what hurts more is that he let it get this way, just so his dog can be on the bed. We have just recently gotten over an argument about the dog sleeping with us, I told him that she is way too big and dirty and that the bed should be shared between just us two. Now the issue is just the dog's unsanitaryness and the idea that romance has been lost because the bed is not special anymore. I dont know what to do, I've suggested that the dog not sleep on it, but nothing changes, I also suggested to buy the dog a bed, but I dont want to waste money buying it to find that she is still on the bed. I rarely even sleep over anymore because of this issue. I feel less important to him now because of this situation. Not to mention that the dog pees on the bed about every other day. I need help on how to go about telling him this without it turning into an argument. And thanks for the help moreVoting Question: how do you fluff up a new memory foam mattress?
My son bought a SonaBella mattress (memory foam) from a private seller. The bed has not expanded to it's full 12 inches yet. Can you spritz water on the bed to make it "fluff" up. It was shrink wrapped and in a box, but it has yet to fully open. Any suggestions? moreResolved Question: Is there clothing that will keep a toddler from taking their diaper off?
My 18 mo daughter takes her diaper off every night and also at every nap time. I noticed that the diaper is completely dry too, she pees all over her bed. It is so gross and it is also very frustrating having to wash her bedding and mattress cover every time and also give her a bath. This morning I woke up and gave her a bath and then I had to again after nap time! It's not like she is uncomfortable in her diaper, it's not even wet when she takes it off. Anyway, I am wondering if there us any clothing I can buy that will keep her from taking her diaper off. I cut the feet off of her only sleeper and put it on her backwards for now. She only has one though. Do they make sleepers that zip up or button up the back? Where can I find them?I actually found a site that makes the kind of sleeper I am looking for. Exactly two weeks ago to date a check was written for a mattress at a store. The check has not shown up as cashed yet, and the item that was delivered was not only the wrong item but we are being given the run around as to when the correct item will be delivered if it is ever delivered. We have read over and over now complaints that the same thing has happened to numerous people and we should have done our research before we bought from them. None the less they have a no return policy and contacting their cooperate office has not gotten us anywhere. We would like to see if we can put a stop payment on the check and they can come and pick up their item if we like since it is still new, not used and just take it back. Since the check was written and a copy of a license was also given in no way do we want to be taken away by the cops or anything. There is funds for the check so it was not written in ill will. But things are vague in Florida about what stop payment laws are for merchandise that is defective or wrong when the company is not cooperating. moreVoting Question: Therapeutic Mattress - I need pros and cons of buying this mattress.?

I am only 14 years old, but my friends call me the old lady because of the back pain I've been having for about 7 months now. I got really sick in August, with some sort of flu and my back (or my health at all, for that matter) haven't gotten better since then. I keep falling in and out of this sickness, the worst part being the cough that I never quite get over. I am sick again right now. The back pain increases with all the coughing and sneezing; it's excruciating. I'm very athletic (I swim every day) but am starting to get slower because the pain limits what I can do. I can no longer bend over. If you have any advice please reply, or if you went through the same thing! I've been to the doctor so many times but don't seem to be getting anywhere. Thinking it was just the flu, we continued sleeping on the mattress. After 10 nights my husband was very ill. We have a good mattress (7 years old) which the pillow-top is now flat--- I do not want to buy a new mattress just for this.. There are so many toppers out there, Target, Carsons, bedding places, etcc... Which one is good?? I don't want to buy one and keep taking them back.. We have a King bed and I want it to stay is it's place!! I've heard that they CAN move around as your laying on it. Also-- My pillows are also flat so I recently bought some pillows (good down pillows). The last few nights my neck has been sore.. I thought down pillows are good for you.. I also been drinking wine at night hoping that would relax me and help BUT I really think it could be this mattress so I need a good comfy pillow-top pad and yes I know they are about $200.00. That's OK especially if it does the job.. Any suggestions?????? moreResolved Question: What do I need to buy to inflate my air mattress?
...obviously a pump, but I tried looking at some of them on amazon and things just seemed confusing. I have one that works in the car, But - I WANT one that can simply plug into the wall while i'm at the beach. Preferably something that's cheap, and simply works. I don't often use this air mattress, like once a year - but I don't like filling it up in the car and bringing it back to the room. moreResolved Question: Do you lose mattress quality if you buy a king size mattress instead of a queen?

Our dog sleeps with our son and sometimes pee's in his bed so I have to have a watereproof mattress pad on it, which makes him sweat. To make matters worse we live in florida which makes him sweat even more. I know I can turn the air up in the summer but I wanted to see if maybe it would help to get certain kind of sheets like flannel, satin or a higher thread count? moreResolved Question: ok so i just bought my baby's crib?
heres is the think o bought my baby's crib and the mattress but i was looking at it and the mattress goes really low, like am going to have to bend a lot to grab her why is that? i was looking at the pics in google of cribs and i saw they had a lot of mattresses why is that there are not cheap =( is there like different sizes or something am so confused moreResolved Question: I bought a faulty mattress from the delivery driver of a mattress store, is there anything I can d?
Okay, so my dad bought a couple mattresses from banner mattress a couple months ago. The driver offered us another mattress that he stated was a return. A couple months later, I needed a new mattress so I called to ask if he had any more mattresses. I bought one from him for $500, that he said was a return. After just a couple of days, the mattress started squeaking. After 5 days, I started waking up in the middle of the night, and waking up in the mornings with backaches. I called the store, and they told me that it was not a return, and that he was not authorized to sell us any mattress. Now, I don't know what to do. I don't have any money left, and I don't think the guy is going to give me my money back. Does anyone know what I can possibly do? moreResolved Question: I bought a faulty mattress from the delivery driver of a mattress store, is there anything I can do?

I work for a mattress and bedding company. WE (the employee) are required to come to work 15 minutes prior to opening the showroom to the public, buy a daily newspaper, and now THEY (the employer) have just added that we have to make a daily bank deposit on our own time, either at the end of our shift or before work the next day. All of which we are not being paid for. Can they legally make us do those things and not pay us for them? and if not, how do I go about contacting the proper people to have these things changed? moreResolved Question: Is there any adapter for a full size mattress to fit a queen size frame?
We just bought a queen size frame- headboard and foot board, but the mattress and box spring are full size. The guy at the store said it wouldn't make a big difference but now that it's put together it obviously does. Is there such a thing as like an adapter or a filler thing to put to fill up the spaces left behind, or do we just need to get rid of the bed? moreResolved Question: My brand new box spring is very squeaky, is this due to the mattress?
I am asking this because I had bad experiences with my memory foam mattress. Since I am very overweight, I kept on breaking the box springs because the memory foam mattress was too soft. I now bought a new bed, and it is squeaking after less than a week. I found out it was the box spring. If I replace the box spring, is it just going to start squeaking again? Could it be because the mattress is not able to support me so it breaks the box spring? Do I have to buy more of a heavy duty mattress? moreMore Buy Mattresses Results
