My son has outgrown his toddler bed & I bought the bed he's been begging for, only to hit hard times financially & not have the money to buy him a decent (not fancy but not junk) mattress. My parents are offering me an *unused* Sealy Posturepedic for free... but it's been sitting uncovered in a somewhat dusty, vacant bedroom now for over 5 years - a room where they keep caged lovebirds & budgies. I imagine most of the dust in the room is from these birds & I'm more grossed out than happy about taking the mattress (though my son desperately needs one). Am I just being stuck up, or is it right to decline? What would you do in this situation? more

Hi guys, I understand NYC is pretty much infested with bed bugs and there are even lawsuits filed against hotels infested with those bugs. I wouldn't if I could, but I HAVE TO travel to NY for a business and need a hotel in Queens that is bed bugs free! I understand this kind of infestation can happen to any hotel out there, but still like to hear opinions of some of you out there. There must be hotels that are more aware of this issue and take appropriate preventative action such as using a bed bug cover onto their mattresses etc. BTW, I will arrive in the LaGuardia airport and hotels near the airport, or anywhere in Queens for that matter would work. I'm 16, male, and gay. I have a friend who's a guy and 18 and his name is bob (fake name). He is engaged to this girl who's also 16 rachel (fake name). This past weekend i was at one of our mutual friend's house george (fake name) and told him to come over. He did and we hung out. Well at the house we had two couches and our other mutual friend was there too Jake (fake name) who's 14, he's a guy as well, so jake and i were gonna sleep on the couches and let bob sleep on the floor. but while we were laying down bob came over to my couch and slept with me. The next day bob went to work and i didnt see him but he came back to the house that night but jake wasn't there this time. so we had two free couches this time, but bob slept with me on the couch again even thought we had a free couch. He took me home the next morning (i live an hour and a half away from our friends house). We preceeded to text that day and all even while he was at work. Well the second night when we were sleeping on the couch i texted him and asked him if he was gay, he said no. The next day he asked me, i told him i wasn't even though i am. He kept asking and i woulndt say yes or no, but then he eventually told me that jake had already told him that i was a few months back and i couldnt deny it then. But he was fine with it and we kept talking, while we were texting he flirted and asked me questions about being gay and stuff like that. Well he told me that he wanted to sleep over my house and i told him that he could. he then asked if he could come on wednesday (it's tuesday night as i'm writing this,he asked if he could stay over on sunday night) and after i asked my parents i told him that he could. We kept flirting and it was all cute. Well on monday night we were texting and he asked where he would sleep at, i told him in my room....then he asked if he needed to bring an air mattress but i told him he could sleep in my bed and he texted a smiley face. and then later in the convo he asked me if we could spoon and i told him yes, and then he asked if i would bone him and i said maybe, he then said "ha omg" i asked him if he was serious and he said that he was serious. for my 15th birthday i really want to have a sleepover at a hotel (sleepover at our house is not an option just to get that out there, its too small and our dogs go too crazy when we have guests over) so we would need 1 room for my family, and my mom is going to go home that night since she doesnt like sleeping at hotels and she is also gonna check on the dogs so we only really need a king room which is $66. for my dad and little sister. then for me and my friends we wanted to get 2 double rooms which both have 2 double beds in each. so one person would have to sleep on an air mattress though or we could try to get a rollaway bed but then theyd know there was 5 people /: but each room is $80. there's also free breakfast and a pool and hot tub outside! as well as free internet. the subtotal for the rooms is $226 but theres a birthday deal where you get $100 off so itd only be $126 for 3 rooms. not bad right? plus you dont have to pay for breakfast and dinner will just be a lot of pizza. what do you think? i think its a pretty good deal but im only 15, i want to know what other parents think.thanks i did something similar last year with only 1 room for me and my friends but i only had 3 guests so it worked out. i wanted to just get 1 room and have everyone sleep on the floor but then we wouldnt get free breakfast with that many people. also we might get kicked out and i definitely dont want that to happen. but last year it cost $150 for the 2 rooms so im thinking this is a good deal more

considering a sleepover at your house is not an option (house too small, plus two large dogs that are too hyper when we have guests). im inviting 8 guests and im trying to find a hotel w/ a pool and we're just gonna get pizza for dinner to keep it simple. and hopefully the hotel gives free breakfast. im not gonna try to get like an executive grand king hotel room or anything just something simple and functional that has either 2 queen or 2 double beds and a rollout couch thing and i guess we can bring some inflatable mattresses?we dont have a backyard... its a little rectangle of stone, theres no grass, theres barely enough room for a small patio table let alone a small tent /: more

Resolved Question: How can I get over my fear of the dark?

Ok so im 17 and im afraid of the dark and I want to get rid of my fear. I was afraid of the dark when I was little because I was always paranoid, i'd always have to have my door open, a night light on and be huddled up in a ball. I got over most of it it by the time I was 13 and was able to break free from the ball, having my door closed came a lot earlier due to my mother always having her god damn tv on, and I got rid of the night light. I moved into a house at the age of 12 and about 1-2 years later I started having waking dreams. I'd wake up suddenly and their would be some horrible creature almost human like coming towards me. I'd always have that feeling of it's going to kill me and i'd scream, some times it would run away or disappear but other times i'd just come towards me until my mother came in the room. It would usually happen about 3-4 times a month till I was 15 then it started coming back about once a month. Theirs one that had come repeatedly, it was a huge white spider. It was more annoying then scary, i'd often kick at it when it came down from the sealing on it's silk. When ever I kicked at it, it would sway as if I had touched it then it would run back up to the sealing and disappear. The second last time I ever saw it was when it brought a big black and red spider with it, I got scared ran to turn on the light and I could still see the spider for a second. The last time I ever saw it was when I had a paralyzed dream accompanied with a delusional dream. Im afraid of my brothers room and I used to keep it closed because I always had to walk buy it and i'd often try to run past it but i'd often get hurt because a little set of stairs is literally right next to his door. I got over it but recently I find my self being creep ed out by it. I almost never go into my parents room at night unless I have to, it just creeps me out so much. I'd heard voices at night, they have never been nice and often ended up on threats, I also have a lot of little stuffed animals in my room and some times they creep me right out because I think their going to come after me. Im terrified of my closet and literally only go in it on rare occasions. When ever I go to bed i'll run and jump onto my bed as fast as I can and try to go to sleep. I used to sleep on the couch for about a year when I was 15, my parents hated it but I was to afraid to go into my room. When we first moved in I slept on a mattress then they got me a bed frame and I couldn't sleep in my room for a few weeks because I was so paranoid. I often have bad cases of paranoia if I have sugar right before I go to bed. But I know it's not the true cause of it because it happens even when I don't have sugar. I think my paranoia and waking dreams have started up again because I noticed im displaying odd behaviors like I normally do when i'm afraid of the dark. I was fine for a while but now I can't even go into the kitchen with out a light on and I freak out if I do go in with out a light on.I currently sleep in my room with the door closed. I do face the dark a lot but im getting in to my paranoid habits.Again! and I don't want to see a doctor again. more

Resolved Question: My first job, very nervous?

So, I got my first job yesterday, kind of. My uncle got me the job to work as a "sub-contractor" (not exactly sure what that is. I guess that means I work when there is work, instead of having a set amount of hours/days/schedule of when I'll work...?) helping this guy deliver mattresses once or twice a week. I'll get payed $11 an hour, so I guess that's good for a first job. Hopefully, if they like me, they'll ask me to help out with other things (it's a family owned/run warehouse/delivery business). Anyways, I'm not a social person at all. I get nervous around people I don't know/I'm not familiar with. I'm a very quiet person, as well. This Monday is supposed to be a "test run" of sorts, and if it works out, I guess they'll ask me to come back. I'm afraid I'll screw up and they'll decide not to ask me back, or they wont like me because of my quiet personality. So I'm kind of freaking out and thinking I'll screw up my first job before it even gets started. If anyone has any kind of experience with a similar job (Riding around in a box truck delivering mattresses to, I think, either stores or homes, I'm not sure exactly which, or something similar) please feel free to give me some tips/advice. Or if you can, just some general tips that will help me out. Basically, I'm just looking for some advice/tips that will help calm my nerves. It's the not knowing what to expect that's freaking me out the most. I was told the basics of what I'd be doing Yesterday, and I guess the guy I'll be riding with will go into more detail/show me how everything is done. My dad is now cancer free, but has spent the last few months receiving fu5 chemotherapy and radiation treatment. A few weeks ago, my mother noticed unexplained rips and what appeared to be scratches only on my fathers side of the bed, and only on the bottom bed sheet. My dad thinks its from the poison leaving his body through sweating at night, but he has no tears in his clothing and no tears on the top sheet, pillow case, or mattress below. These rips start in the middle of the bed and spread over to my dads side in vertical lines. Some ripped all the way through the sheet, others look like surface scratches on the sheet. It has been about 3 weeks since the first incident, but tonight, the rips were there again. Does anyone have an explanation for what this phenomenon could be? more

A friend urinated on my mattress in their sleep and decided not to tell me. Now I am left with a huge urine stain and a urine smelled bedroom. I can not afford to purchase a new mattress at this time. I already put some vinegar on it last night and let it dry (this is what my sister told me to do). I borrowed a steam cleaner to use tonight but I want to know any suggestions before I use it. Resolved Question: Living space, clutter issue?

I'm living with my parents, and probably will be for quite a while, and while it's nice of them and all to let me live here for free, the atmosphere is incredibly unhealthy. Every house has its clutter, naturally, and I'm sure there are houses worse than this, but the real issue is that these people are also controlling and oblivious about it. They've always had a clutter problem. They always want to move to new, bigger houses. Both my sister and brother have moved out, and both their rooms have become storage rooms. Any time there is new space, it is quickly filled with food, or random niknaks. They'll collect furniture, particularly dressers and cabinets, and fill them with more food. I'm currently bedding in my brothers old room, on a queen sized mattress on the floor, and there is literally no floor space. The queen bed barely fits, stretching from the door to the window. There is one cabinet, two dressers, all full of food. On the top of the dressers is more food. Boxes of it. There is enough floor space for two boxes of food, containers of whey powder, beer, cake mixes, bags of rice, 2L bottles of soda, etc. The closet is full of food. Olives, sauces, crackers. There is a fajita grill on the top shelf. The only place for my stuff is literally on the bed with me, or tossed over the back of a chair I managed to scrape (literally scraped the wall) in for my cat to sleep on so she didn't get cat hair everywhere. The only reason I'm in this room rather than my actual bedroom room is because it's too full of stuff to live in. The bed is covered in bags of clothes they bought for my nephew, who's playpen is in that room also. There is food covering the rest of it, food on the headboard, food on the floor. There is no access to my bookshelves because there's garbage bags full of clothes, shoes or food. The only place for clothes in that room is in one shelf of a five shelf dresser (the rest are filled with childrens clothes), and on top of a boxed keyboard that they bought at an antique shop that has only ever been used as an extra shelf (same situation in the dining room with an exercise machine, it's a shelf). I'm told I can't have that room back, because they need it for storage, and for my nephew to sleep in, or for company to sleep in. I want someplace to actually exist, but I need some advice on how to go about it. I tried clearing out a room in the basement once, and after spending over 18 straight hours cleaning it, it looked the same as when I began, even though I'd thrown out 9 garbage bags worth of stuff and put more of it under the stairs. They acknowledge they have too much stuff, but continue to buy more. The most recent purchases were a 60" TV and a new dining room suite. Often they justify purchases as, "it was on sale", or, "we'll need a new set of this eventually", or, "I bought this to give to my friends / give the old stuff to friends." But it stays here, gets put away, and forgotten. How can I go about setting this straight? Even for just one room? I feel like I've bitten off more than I can chew, and the whole situation is just hopeless. Just being here is depressing. There's no space to move around in, so I spend most of the time laying in bed. It's the only space I have to myself. I need somewhere to work. I'm sure if I cleared an area of the floor, put a mat on it, and designated it "the push-up spot", it would be covered in a box of food within the week. Some advice, please.I'm editing to mention most of the food is not edible, as someone said I should be happy I'm not going to starve. Most of the food is condiments. Sauces, mayo, etc. It gets collected because it's not used and is disproportionate to actual meals. I certainly won't go hungry if I enjoy eating popcorn kernels slathered in mustard. more

Resolved Question: food allergy? or something more?

Every night my hands, fingers and wrists, tops of feet and ankles develop a burning itch. I have bug sprayed my room, I use All free detergent, I use cetaphil lotion and Dove soap... have been using all for years. This itching started a few months ago on my feet. I thought it was ringworm, it wasn't. I thought it was bed bugs or spiders so I sprayed my room and got a mattress cover. I also get "bite" looking inflammations, that's what itches. I get them in the middle of the day, too but It burns more at night. I always feel like there are bugs crawling on me, but there's not. What could be causing this?! I'm desperate and without health insurance so I want to avoid useless tests, although I will go to the doctor of I must. One more thing, when I eat too much, like pizza for example,the "spots" or bites come out more the next day with painful swelling. Before that happens I will pass out - I mean OUT, drooling in my sleep, can't focus, can't move, just feel weighted down and groggy almost as though I were drunk. I am female 28 and in good health (as of my last check up 9 months ago) this "itchy spots" and food coma started around January. I've also gained 20 lbs since January, despite an exercise and diet routine (pizza is my occasional cheat food) Any ideas about what could be going on? more

Resolved Question: Is it okay to store my really nice expensive Simmons mattress on it's side?

It's a queen sized mattress with latex and individual springs. I've had to move out of my apartment since I lost my job. We will get another apartment at the end of summer and take it out of storage then. But right now it's been up on its side for about 3 months. Will it be okay for a few more? Should we turn it over onto it's other side to make it fall evenly? Will we destroy this mattress by doing this to it? And if the answer is that we must store it flat right away, where the hell are we supposed to store it? The space we have is just barely big enough for all our stuff and it's costing us over $100 per month! Ok so my mom's boyfriends sister moved in with us for a couple of weeks, and she brought in some air mattresses for her and her kids from god knows where (i didn't bother asking). Well turns out that wherever she got them from, they had bedbugs. Her daughters woke up today all covered in bites. me and my mom are worried they might pass over to our room because its right next door. they've already gotten rid of the mattresses and vacuumed all around their room but my moms being paranoid and i cant take it anymore so i have to ask; what are some good ways to keep the bedbugs out of our room? my mom vacuumed, washed all the clothes that were on the floor, and washed the bedsheets so i think we're pretty safe. we just found out today that the mattresses had bedbugs so we don't know for sure if their here to stay or if their home was in the mattresses. I just feel bad, so many other pregnant women I meet are splashing out on the most expensive prams etc. But we simply haven't got the money to do so! I lost my job at the end of March and we have a ton of things which need doing in the house as well as baby things to buy. We don't have generous family/friends to help us out. So it all has to be done as cheaply as possible (or free in the case of things you can pick up from freecycle!) Obviously I know all the "rules" like not buying second hand carseats and making sure the baby has a new mattress in their cot/moses basket, and obviously I will wash eveything first and make sure its clean and safe. But I just feel bad. I so wanted a lovely new pink buggy for my baby girl but it looks like we'll be making do with a navy blue second hand one. There seems to be such a snobbery about getting things second hand and it makes me feel awful. Has anyone else been in the same boat?We got rid of most of our son's stuff for two reasons. One was lack of space for storage and two was that we didn't expect to have another baby (fertility problems!) this one was a total surprise. A lot of my son's things were second hand also - but they were things that people gave to us. Voting Question: What should I do about my living situation?

Here's the deal... as of now I'm staying with family for a short time. I can't stay long and I don't want to! Well, my options are... get an apartment after I pay my $500 electric bill off! Then... get an air mattress to sleep on and have no furniture until I can manage to afford some once bills are paid up. Or... I've been looking into getting a room at the Extended Stay. They are surprisingly nice. They come with a queen size bed, dressers, night stands, 42 in TV, free internet and cable, small kitchen with 2 burner stove and full size fridge.. they even provide dishes and pots and pans. The price per week is $175, and that includes everything... that makes it about $700 a month. I could get a one bedroom for about.... 500-600 a month averaging in the utilities. I'm just trying to figure if the price is worth it? I mean I have no furniture... bad credit... and it just seems it would be the easier way. I have debit to pay off of course, but I need to figure something out for the time being. Any advice? more

Resolved Question: How is the imagery in this essay?

This was what i wrote. The prompt was to think of yourself somewhere, and to describe sound, sight, hearing, and smells. I am in the middle of a forest, during spring. It is rather warm for a spring day, but in a good way. The gaps in the trees above let in light, that I can see dust motes floating through, and in the semidarkness of the forest, I can see brilliance of the rays of the sun, as it shines through. As it hits the ground, I can see it twinkle off of small, water polished rocks. Next to me, there is a fast moving, yet shallow, and thin creek that seems to go on endlessly. Behind me, I can see that the creek is cutting its way through the roots of a tree that is at least the same diameter of a house. There are birds, with a fantastic array of colors, perched along the trees, which would put even Aphrodite to shame. There is a fallen tree that is almost through with its decomposition that puts me at peace, every time I see it. As I begin to walk along, I hear the rustling of the leaves, and overgrowth on the ground being kicked around. The birds, with voices as beautiful as their vibrant colors, begin to sing merrily. The melody of their song accompanies the creek, and they seem to fuse together, into the most alluring sound anyone will ever hear. It is as if the world is problem free, and nothing will ever ail people again. Even the scent of the rotting log seems pleasant, when the natural music is going on. As I continue to walk along the creek, listening to everything that this forest is offering, I see a small cottage in the distance. Approaching it, with the overgrowth hitting my arms lightly as I walk towards it, the music seems to recede. I find myself entering a clearing in the forest, with the trees slowly thinning, and the overgrown plants start to turn into a well maintained yard. There is a distinct smell, of fresh baked bread coming from this cottage. The smell is very light, but still strong enough that it is all I can smell. The cottage is small, only enough for one room in it. It was of very simple design. Behind it, I could see the edge of what seemed to be the beginnings vast garden. I approach the cottage, slowly. As I get to the door, and knock, I notice that at the edge of the clearing, there are felled trees, with some drag marks, making me think that the cottage is new, and made from the woods it resides in. Inside, I can hear a grating sound of wood on wood, followed by loud footfalls as the occupant approached the door. As whoever was in there was moving, a booming bark came at me, even though the heavy wood door that made me take a startled step back. The door creaked open, and the man behind it appeared to be a giant. He stood at least 6 and a half feet tall, and was very muscular. In a booming voice that emulated the dogs, he asks “Why are you here, interrupting my supper, boy?” “I’m sorry, sir. I only wished to investigate, and not to disturb. I have been in this forest many times, and never before have I seen this cottage.” I replied, with a note of panic on my voice. At first, I thought I was hearing thunder, but when I looked up, and there wasn't a cloud to be seen, it dawned on me that the man was simply laughing. “I just bought this land, and was enjoying my first meal here. Come in and join me, won’t you? Up until now, I’ve only had Travis as company.” The man said, gesturing at the massive dog at his heels as if he were an everyday sight to a normal person. “Just come in, and make yourself at home. I have plenty.” So, I stayed, and dined with this giant of a man, who was even kinder than he had seemed. His cottage had nothing in it, except a solid wood table, four chairs at the table, and a bed. The table and the chairs seemed to have been handmade, but, with exquisite attention to detail. When my Dad died, I came into a few hundred thousand dollars. I decided to become a home owner. I bought (free and clear, no mortage) a house. Up Side: No rent, no mortgage. Down side: I bought a 780 square foot (tiny) little ghetto house in a bad part of Los Angeles (Echo Park). Got burglar bars and doors, a fence, motion activated floodlights, an alarm, and a big dog from the pound. Right now, the California Economy is dead, so you can buy guns from people who just lost their jobs for practically nothing. I keep that, and a spare loaded clip, between my mattress and the springs during the day, and under my pillow at night. I keep it without a bullet in the chamber, so I won't have an accident. My best friend slept over (he lives on the other side of the San Gabriel Mountains in Palmdale, and it's a long drive). We went to a movie, and he said he was too tired to drive home. So he sees my home defense set up, and starts to criticize. He says if I start shooting, I am going to be sending bullets right throught the walls of my tiny little house, and will be killing my neighbors. He says I am really irresponsible, and that I should get out my shotgun instead. I inherited a Savage BSE double barrel shotgun in 20 guage. My friend says I should load that with birdshot. He says birdshot will kill anyone inside a house, but it won't penetrate walls. I don't know whether to take him seriously or not. He has his good points, and will give me the shirt off his back, but he also has a need to constantly one up me. I like the big (to me) .38 Super for several reasons. It feels good in my hand. I like that I can instantly reload it. To a small guy like me (five foot four, 119 pounds) it seems pretty powerful. And I can hold my big steel cop flashlight my cop brother bought me for a gift in my other hand. And I can hide it behind my back or down by my side if I am investigating my yard at night. I will look like a horse's patoot running around my tiny yard with a double barreled shotgun. They will call the men in the white coats. Also, my house was wood frame, which some genius added a ton of stucco to. I guess for insulation. I assume a hollow pont bullet would rip itself to pieces going thought the lath and plaster (really old house) wood frame, and then two inches of stucco. Also, I am not very big or strong. If I went after someone in the house with a shotgun, I am afraid they could take it off me. I don't have a lot of upper body strength. I keep this big hunting knife with leather washer grip I inherited in my nightstand. I had it shapened razor sharp at this cutlery place in the mall. If I actually thought someone were in my house, I would put the gun in my right hand, and my knife in the left. I am scared a big or strong man could wrestle the gun out of my hand. That way, if we were wrestling over the gun, I would simply stab the guy with a big razor sharp six inch blade. I can't do that with a big old shotgun with a long, clumsy barrel. I think my home defense set up is pretty good. Actually I DON'T intend on shooting someone. I may be very naive, but I think if I shoot my gun off into the floor, 99% of all intruders will exit stage left, with running feets out the door. I mean a .38 Super with +P is LOUD, at least in the indoor shooting range. I can get several pallets for free, and nail them together. They'd form the walls, being self-supporting. The gaps between the pallets would be filled with foam. The inside of the pallets would be layered with sheetrock. One of the walls would have a door frame with a hung door for opening/closing, possible two doors sandwiched together to create a double-door scenario. The pallets I can get for free, the doors I can get for free, the foam I can get for free. Inside, Twin mattresses, about two per wall would be attached to the walls where applicable. There's a store that cleans mattresses nearby and sells them at cheap prices. If there are any cracks/seams, I will seal them with acoustic calk, and possible if I have enough space still, fill the gaps/line the walls with Auralex acoustic foam and bass stoppers. The walls would be fairly dense at this point, and not have spent too much money. The sheetrock I could mostly find online, and the rest just buy and cut to size. Sound alright?? more

Me and my girlfriend moved into an apartment yesterday. After bringing everything in (couch, mattress, tv, clothes, etc) we left for about two hours and came back (which was now night time) and found plenty of roaches everywhere. These were the little roaches that are commonly around garbage and stuff. The lease had in it that the apartment was to be pest free at move in and pest free at leave time, i complained and am suppose to get out of my lease tomorrow with a full refund, but i know how roaches are and my couch and mattress and tv stayed in there for about 24 hours and im afraid i will take them to the next place i go. Resolved Question: I have the worst middle back pain only in the morning....?

I have researched this over and over and I have found a lot of people with similar problems but there isn't any resolution. Here is my problem. I usually go to bed pain free. I sleep any where from 4-6 hours and BAM! the worst sharp pain in my mid back. No matter what position I am in it hurts and usually doesn't feel better until I wake up and move around. I have been to chiropractors, doctors, had blood tests, urine tests, x-rays, everything seems fine. I have changed my bed and even went as far as buying a nice expensive mattress, with no relief. I was put on a routine to stretch which targets the area, but doesn't seem to help the morning pain. I know there are a lot of people who have a similar problem and I was hoping someone found some relief from this. I am a healthy 27 yo male, active, and in good shape. Any info would be great. Yesterday a young women came to my door and said I could get a "Free carpet cleaning", I was was dumb enough to say "Sure" and a few minutes later and man came in. He didn't Shampoo my stairs but instead starting telling my how dirty the floors were and I needed a Kirby Vacuum. He vacuumed my wood floors, my stairs, my bedroom mattress and told me that this is what my daughter was breathing in. After his 3 hour speech, I asked how much and he wrote the figures down to 3200. I said NO WAY. I am not spending a months salary on a Vacuum then he said if I gave him my Hoover, he would sell me the Kirby for 2600. I said NO WAY. He said if I gave him all my Vacuums in the house he would sell me the Kirby for 1300. He gave me a sheet to fill out and I said "My husband is not here, I am not comfortable giving you any information". He said, Ok just fill it out. YOu can afford a kirby. I said NO I CAN"T. He said You need one, you can afford on. He was SO pushy. I told him no. My husband showed up and he said, Your wife wants a Kirby and I said "There nice but not 2000 dollars nice". My husband asked him to leave. He started vacuuming and showing my husband the "evidence' and then he put the evidence back on our floor. He was extremenly pushy and I said NO 15 times. He said I could afford a kirby if I was on the family budget plan. The Budget plan was 600 dollars down PLUS my two Vacuums and 300 dollars a month. I could not afford that. Is this normal for Kirby salemen to be this pushy? more

Voting Question: My bunny is not happy...?

I have a lion-headed dwarf rabbit, who's getting to be about 5 or 6 months old, I think. I've had him for about a month, and I read up on bunnies, and found that he was probably about 4 or 5 months old when I got him. He has a suitable-sized cage, with bedding that I replace as often as necessary- he also has a water bottle (filtered water only- the water around here is no good), a little ball thingy with a bell that hangs from the top of his cage that I fill with timothy hay, and a shoebox that he sleeps on. Most of the time though, he's got free roam of my bedroom- he has a little alcove near the heater (which he loves to sit next to), with his food dish, a water dish, a bit of hay, and a newspaper bunny box, in case he needs to potty. He also has a couple of sturdy boxes to play on/in, and some rings I made out of toilet paper tubes that he used to carry around. He's also got a dog toy of a hedgehog that he stole from my puppy, and, every now and then, the two of them will play together (supervised, of course. My puppy is VERY gentile with the bunny). He used to run around the room, and play, and climb on things- a happy bunny. But now he just kind of sits around. I've noticed that he's also gotten poofy- I just attribute that to him getting older. I clipped his back claws yesterday, and I also recently traded in my bed (that was a mattress on the floor) for one with a frame (that he can't get on). He used to potty a lot on my old bed- would either of those cause him to be less happy? I've been wracking my brain about this little guy, and have found nothing, so, here's this. I recently moved into a new room and am having a problem with mystery bugs. Every night for the last two weeks I've woken up with multiple tiny bites all over my body. I'm not being eaten alive or anything, but it is unpleasant and inconvenient. the bites aren't painful, just itchy and small. I've taken and washed all of my clothes and all of my sheets and blankets but still I wake up with fresh bites. I've gone through and inspected my mattress and pillows for signs of an infestation of bed bugs or fleas in case I picked them up somehow but I haven't found a single bug. I don't have the money to hire a bug killer guy and I don't want to spray the entire place with poison or anything dangerous like that because I have pets (who are bug and bite free). Does anyone have any advice or tips to help with getting rid of these mystery bugs? I'd really like some help.It might be skeeters, but I don't think so because I don't open the windows in here because its really cold this time of year. I haven't noticed any bugs on me. I'm kind of a neat freak and can't make it through the day without taking at least two showers and washing my hair. I'd be really concerned if i found bites in my penis area considering that i'm a girl... I'm not so concerned with what kind of bugs there are, so much as how to get rid of them more
