Resolved Question: New bed problems. My rights. UK?

I had a new bed delivered at the end of May [from Sleepmasters] their own brand [but I am told made by Relyon]. This bed was in the sale [their all year round sale] and was £2000 reduced to £900. [Pocket sprung] I noticed that there was a big black mark on the mattress, one of the base drawers was broken and bashed the door hanging off and there was no thread on one side for the headboard to attach so it partly hung off. They agreed to replace the whole bed and I waited about 5 weeks for this. I now have the replacement bed. After only two weeks I am in extreme agony, there is a deep dip in the centre of the bed and if I lay on either side of it [kingsize] it feels like I am on a slope and I am forced into the lumpy uncomfortable centre of it. I appreciate that settlement takes place in a new bed but do not believe that settlement alone would cause me such agonising pain in my back! Sleepmasters have told me to wait 10 weeks for the bed to 'settle' - and if it hasn't they will consider it a fault. I dont feel I could do ten more hours on the bed let along 10 weeks and by then will need a new back and not just a new bed! What are my rights? There clearly is a fault with the springing unit. I plan to call them on Monday when the office re-opens. Can I ask them to take it away and ask for a refund? I have NO confidence in this particular brand of bed and as they clearly sell by volume, I wonder if they are skipping on quality and proper workmanship.... Resolved Question: Now that my 9 month old learned to sit herself up, how can I get her to lie down for a nap?

She just starting sitting herself up (by pushing up from a side lying or belly down position). Now she refuses to lie down at all, which makes nap time rather tricky. Instead she's sleeping sitting up -- or as close to up as possible. It's almost as though her legs are crossed "indian style" and then she slumps her forehead forward on to her mattress. Is this okay? It's not really child's pose, because her bum and upper legs are are down on the mattress. I know babies are more flexible, but it looks like a real potential to cut off circulation or to stretch it a bad way. When I try putting her on her back, she kicks and screams -- she hasn't slept on her back for at least 2 months. When I put her on her tummy, she just sits up. She's had three days now of bad naps. It's been tough getting her down at night, as well, but once she's out, she stays out. THis is a new skill, so maybe I just need to wait it out? I want her to get good quality sleep, so I have only gone in once to change her position, because I'm afraid to wake her. Is there a safe sleep prop or wedge or something? TIA! more

David David sprang up sitting straight up on his bed the sheets were mangled around him. A cold sweat was coming down his forehead. He shivered and gazed down at his wife. She was stirring wildly. He put a hand down to sooth her. She settled at his touch. He sighed and lay back down. The sun rose and shined on a ring on the night stand reflecting onto the couple. They sat up then sat on the edge of their bed and rose up from the old creaky mattress. The women grabbed the ring and slipped it on her finger. David had already started to get her cane. She gratefully took it. They walked out to the front patio and they sat on two lawn chairs. Facing the trees and road the scenery was great. But no matter how nice the scenery or temperature or anything else was this was the worst day for Jane and I’s life. “Jane” I said to the old woman next to me. I was staring into the horizon avoiding her eyes afraid I might cry. “I know it is time but, who will I give it to” she reached out for his hand squeezing it gently. I glanced over, she was staring at me. I moved my head slowly and steadily and gazed at the wretched ring and then met her gentle, wrinkled face. Her face had a long scar from the first time one of the wishes the ring had granted went wrong. My big warm hands cradled her face and I stroked where the scar was. Jane shivered slightly. I held her hand to my chest and felt the cold bump that and always had been the ring well ever since that dreadful night at the market. It was cold and dark out. Jane and I were young and in love I was thinking about proposing to her but I didn’t have enough money for the diamond ring. We were walking down the marketplace dirt road she stopped at every jewelry stand, none had nice diamond rings. Although she might had not been looking for them but I did. Then, since Jane was a nice person, we saw a poor person and she gave the poor woman money, Jane didn’t hear and walked away as I stopped to listen she gave me what I was looking for a quality ring. Although it was not a traditional ring I said thank you. Then right there I knelt down my hands already sweaty my heart thumping. “Jane Trevose will you marry me” I said smoothly “Yes” she jumped up and down and hugged me I lifted her up off the ground and spun her. I slipped on the ring then the woman asked to speak with Jane and then me. She told me Jane knew the same thing and just a bit more. That’s when I realized my mistake. My memory faded in and out then I ended up back in the real world. “Ti amo” I said in Italian and then whispered in case she didn’t understand “I love you” “I love you too” she whispered back. I could tell she drifted into space. Remembering something or thinking, thinking about what I thought. A dim memory whisked into my head, the second time I was taken into a dream like memory It was the accident when the rings powers had went bad. She had wished a wish she had made a hundred times before. It was where the place would prepare a meal and clean its self up, or that’s what she told me. The knives had darted at her instead though. She had dodged most and it had cut her cheek deeply. Than had fallen down the stairs from the shock. But I made the feather dusters catch her before a serious head injury. Then she and I came back to reality. She watched me with grateful eyes because only later on, after the incident, she had seen that her ring had slipped off her finger and I had wished for the feather dusters under her. I knew from the look she was giving me that moment I came out of the memory that she was thinking of the same thing as me, we were always on the same page. When the problem with the ring had begun that was our signal that they had to pass on the ring. Or at least Jane had to because she had used it the most. But in order for her to be able to pass on the ring she would have to lose a loved one. Or in better words she was forced to leave me permanently Jane glanced over to the horizon where the trees had the sun slowly rising above them. The birds chirped. When she looked over back to her husband he was nothing but a thin mist in the shape of his figure. She quickly closed her eyes and opened them where the horizon was again. Then she looked back over to where her husband used to be, hoping that he would be back. She sighed knowing that it had been no use to look over once again, because no matter how many times she did she would never see her husband again. more

Hi everyone! i love stargazing laying flat on my back outside on an air mattress. I have 9x63 binoculars that i have attached to a tripod. and i love them except that they are way to heavy to use while laying down and star gazing. I do use them on the tripod but my neck starts to hurt when i look at stars that are higher up. So i perter to lay down because it feels way more natural and comfortable. So i was thinking about purchasing another pair of binoculars of lesser quality and lighter wait with maybe just 6x magnification. something i could hold and use for a couple of hours without my arms getting tired. Do any of you do this when stargazing? a bigger quality pair of binoculars on a tripod for closer inspection of stars close to the horizon(or studying the moon) and a lighter pair of lower magnification for stargazing while laying flat on your back? I like looking at Arcturus and Vega. but Vega is usually straight above my head so i lay down to look at the Lyra. Sorry that this is so long i just wanted some input on this. I'm moving into a studio apartment in two months and am looking for a sleeper sofa but am having trouble finding what I'm looking for and want to see if anyone else has found something suitable that can point me to the right company/brand/store. Here is what I need: I will be sleeping on this bed exclusively for two years while I'm in Grad school so I want one that pulls out (so I can put nice sheets on it and people wont be sitting on it all the time) I do not want one that folds flat like a futon. Voting Question: Help with choosing a good bed?

I was going to get this bed.. http://eq3.com/cat-eq3/process/locale/en_CA/currency/en_CA/page/6020-435-11.html but with the frame, slats, headboard, mattress, it's way over 2000 dollars. So what I was looking for is a frame that's relatively close to this look, and height, because I was also getting a side table that would be close to the height of that bed, and I'd like to have a lower bed. I also want to be able to put in a box-spring (specifically a low box-spring) and a mattress (the box-spring and mattress from sleep country) instead of the slats, because the box-spring would be more comfortable. that I can also put a different head board on to (like the one in the picture from the link) thanks for all your help, oh and one more thing. There was crime where I lived, although it wasn't as bad as it could've been, but there were still bomb threats and my school went on lock down many times because of murders in the area. People were killed nearby and there was one serial killer around, my school was closed and when it opened there were men with huge guns outside my school because he'd shot a kid outside a school. There were shootings at nearby malls. I didn't feel safe a lot of the time. I grew up being in the ethnic minority. That doesn't mean I look homeless or don't take care of myself. I wear nice clothes (although we can't afford to buy them that often, most of my clothes are 2+ years old), and I do my hair and makeup and look very put together. My mother had fits of rage when things weren't clean, so I always had to make sure everything was perfectly clean and perfectly aligned, so my room is always perfectly clean, as are my clothes, and my appearance could, I guess, be considered a little preppy. I moved to a different country when I was 12, everyone here is white (I am too), incredibly small minded and racist. They freely use the "n" word and think it's hilarious, they don't realize what they're doing is wrong. There is virtually no crime here, I don't think there has been a murder here in 20+ years. Everyone knows each other, the people here are among the richest in the world, they're always listed at the top of the quality of life lists. They're spoiled. I'm not sure exactly why, though, but I've been referred to as "mommy's little princess" by people who barely knew me. I'm obviously not going to call them out on it and tell them that my mother is mentally ill and was incredibly abusive growing up, so I just say, "ok", or something. They ask me what my parents do, and I tell them, and they laugh and say I must be pretty rich, and imply that I'm spoiled. I don't know why it sounds like they make a lot of money, but they really don't. Again, I'm not about to tell them that I slept in a ******* tiny closet (the mattress barely fit in it) as a kid because we couldn't afford a house with enough bedrooms. I do drink, and I’ve been drinking before they’d even tasted alcohol. I don’t feel the need to brag about it, though. I don’t smoke because that’s stupid. The people here think that they’re tortured souls and “soooo rebellious” for smoking, and sleeping with everything that moves. People (and I mean most 13-year-olds+) have blogs here where they list the people they’ve slept with and talk about what it was like. Yet, when I drink or smoke occasionally or something, they all laugh at me, and go like, “hahahha, is ____ smoking? I have to see this!” When they hear about where I came from, they probably think I lived like the spoilt goody two shoes kids on the old American TV shows. I don’t sleep around because I have standards, and I do respect myself and I think that what they’re doing is ridiculous. The most goody two shoes girl I’ve ever seen, who’s lived in that town her whole life, is incredibly privileged and has always gone to the best schools and whose parents are both rich, went like, “hahah, ____ didn’t smoke, did she?” How do I get them to shut the **** up?**** off denzie more

I want the mattress to be of the highest quality possible (so I am not sure a futton will be good enough for her back) but I also want the bed to open up and have a second bed available for guests. Hello! I am purchasing a moses basket as a gift for my sister who is expecting her very first baby. I want to get something that is not only lovely looking but definitely safe, sturdy, and of great quality (especially with regards to the mattress, the bedding, and the handles). A hood would be nice, but it needs to stay up and definitely not fall in the baby's face. I have read review after review and have yet to find what I am looking for. I live in Europe (and she is in the USA); so, I am having to order it and have it sent to her. Ordering online, I haven't got much opportunity to get a good look at a product. Have you got any experience in buying a moses basket? Is there one you would highly recommend? Are there any that you would advise me to stay well away from? What about stands? Okay so I'm moving out and I wanted to know a few ways to move my king sized bed. It's a bob-o-pedic lol and it has two twin box springs so i know that'll be easy to move. Bought a $650 mattress and in three months it has a body impression, it's like sleeping in a hammock, and that spot gets so hot it feels like 120 degrees. Some Nights I get up and sleep on the couch. It is a full size mattress, and if I turn it it is all I can do to not roll it to that body impression. I think this is the quality of a $300 for a $650 price. The worst part there are no returns and the warranty says, "Body impressions are natural and are not covered.
