Hi, my partner put our 20mth old son in his playpen, whilst he showered and when he returned our son was watching tv and chewing on a green crayon which he had found under his playpen mattress, they were cheap crayons bought out of the pound store, and I dont have any information as I threw away the cardboard box they came in a quarter of the crayon was gone, and his mouth was all green, do you think he will be ok? are all crayons made non toxic now? I am in rented accommodation so really don't want to buy anymore furniture to cart around from rented house to rented house with me HOWEVER my mattress in my new house is so uncomfortable it's savage. When I moved in I started aching and feeling like I needed a good stretch in the morning but I thought it was because I wasn't continuing my yoga practices through the week like the teacher told me to. Then last week my boyfriend stayed round (normally I go to him because he lives near the clubs and bar so it's easier than mine) and was so fidgety. Eventually I was like what's up? and he pointed out my mattress is awful and it hurts his back. When I thought about it I realised my mattress is awful. You can feel individual springs poking you, so bad in fact that sometimes I think I am lying on something like a pen but it's a spring. I slept round his again last night and my body ached so much less so now I want a solution that isn't buying a new mattress. I saw in a shop recently a memory foam mattress topper and I thought maybe this would solve my problem. My only concern is that the springs would just poke me through the memory foam? Can this happen? Is this an appropriate solution? PS. Our landlord is pretty horrendous (still waiting for a patio door key, the mould cleaned off our freezer, etc) so I will never get a new mattress and I can't afford one or store it when I leave at the end of this academic year. moreResolved Question: anyone read the sun newspaper yesterday!!!! needing help?

I have just moved into a really lovely shared rental house. The only problem is my bed. The mattress is really old, it creaks when I move and has a big dip in the middle. I'm waking up with a sore lower back in the mornings which is concerning because I've had back problems in the past. I don't really want to buy a new mattress because I may only be here for 6 months and I have nowhere to store the old one which would need to be back in place when I leave to get my bond back. I was thinking of buying a foam mattress topper but I'm wondering if one will help or if this mattress is just too far gone. I bought a Hasselback mattress from Ikea at the weekend. It felt great to me on the in store display model - quite soft and springy but the mattress I have at home is very firm and does not seem to dent at all under my body weight. I was wondering if anyone knows if these types of mattresses (pocket sprung) become softer over time like the in store model or should I take it back? Also if this is the case, how long would it take? I live in MA, and my roommate who has lived there for 2 months was charged with stealing from me and forging my checks. there are witnesses to this crime as well as stealing my credit cards and jewelry and cash. He has been charged with this crime; it then appeared that he has 13 other warrants for his arrest. the police has allowed me to change the locks, but i believe that he has fled (his toothbrush was gone) but he left all his things like air-mattress, tv stand with a 15"TV and a floor lamp, nothing worth more than $150(i think). He hasn't been in he apartment for a week now. when i tried calling him, his number was disconnected. He also hasn't paid rent for 2 months. What is the best, quickest, safest way to get him out? what about his stuff? I called the housing court, they said i can toss his stuff out, but i can face the chance that he will sue me for his things. can i store them? i need another roommate asap since i can't afford the place on my own, when can i start looking for a new roommate, or tenants or even sell the place? I like this crib because it is sturdy but it looks as it might be too narrow or will become in a few months. It says it is up to 6 months though. The sizes are L96.5 x W45.5 x H93cm and the crib mattress (38 x 89cm). Can you imagine the width has decreased by 7cm. I need to buy something like this when the baby is born because the older one does not want to move out into another bedroom. I need some help in buying a new bed. At the moment I have silver framed bed with a sprung mattress. I'm thinking of buying either a leather framed bed with a 7cm memory mattress, or, a divan bed with memory/sprung combined mattress. What are the memory mattress's like? I have heard they work better on framed beds rather than divan as it needs air and they can get quite hot at times. Which would be more comfortable the memory mattress on the framed or divan bed? Should i get the combined memory/sprung mattress? My local furniture store have gave me a price of £599 for divan bed with 70% memory mattress, is this a good price? Would there be more support with the divan bed therefore given a more comfortable night sleep than the framed bed? I'm obviously looking to buy at a good price, any uk websites of genuine dealers that delivery to uk address would be much appreciated. I have a garage in a block of garages six miles from where I live, which I use for storing kit. It has no power but is not obviously damp. I would find it useful to be able to sleep in it one night every two months. There is room for a matress. Would it be possible or sensible to put a mattress, some sheets, and some blankets in there, and sleep? Obviously it won't be the ritz, and I would not be able to wash, but would it be possible to get any sleep or would there be problems etc. Could I run an oil heater or something like that? It is extremely dusty and covered in red brick dust.
