Resolved Question: Do you own a Foamex and/or Aerus Mattress?
So I'm having a hard time find any info or reviews on the mattress company Foamex and/or Aerus. From what I can see they are a company based in States and the mattresses are sold in Sam's Club stores. Does anybody own a Aerus mattress? What are your thoughts? Do you have back problems? Has it helped at all? My fiance and I are looking into getting a latex mattress topper (NOT memory foam!). Most of our shopping is being done online, and while the reviews are good for both 2-4" pads, we're not sure how much is really necessary. We want to make our bed more comfortable, but with the large price difference per inch, we really don't want to get a thicker one than we need. If anyone has used a 2 or 3" latex mattress topper and had good results- or poor results- we'd like to know. My 5 1/2 month old little boy HATES sitting in his car seat. I think the angles and lack of cushioning seems to be the cause. I've been trying to find a decent car seat that is very safe and has a comfortable cushioning for him, but am having a hard time finding reviews. All of the car seats I see have a great thick shell, but then very little cushioning. My son currently sleeps on a memory foam mattress and absolutely loves it. Isn't there some kind of carseat out there with a thick (2 inches or so maybe?) memory foam cushioning on the back and butt area?? We currently have an evenflow aura system (hand me down) and it only has light cushioning on the back and NONE on the base or sides. I like the ones with the cushioned sides near the ears and am looking for an alternative to the straps that go between his legs, since it seems to put pressure on his nether regions and he doesn't seem to like that (I wouldn't either). I purchased a sleep innovations novaform memory foam mattress at a costco store. I read the reviews both before and after I purchased it and no one else complains that the mattress is too hard. I never had sore hips and shoulders with my old mattress. Now I toss and turn to find a comfortable position and wake up sore. My husband loves the mattress because it gives him more support than our innerspring mattress. I have sleep apnea, restless leg syndrome, and night eating syndrome. In all of years of sleep labs, sleep medications, a cpap machine, and herbals, I have yet to find a bed that helps me to feel refreshed in the morning for the few hours of sleep I actually get each night. I am looking for two things 1.) How does the natures rest memory foam compare to Tempurpedic? 2.) Has anyone with similar conditions tried this approach? Well I have a bunch of money to spend from christmas, and i definately want to get a new bed. The thing im debating over is a memory foam mattress, or a pillowtop mattress. I really like squishy beds, for instance my parents have a pillowtop mattress and i looove it, its so comfy and i get tired from laying on it even when im not sleepy, but i have also read that memory foam mattresses are nice- but ive seen that they can be firm. Now i am trying to decide on either of the 2 options i linked below, both not too different in price, both cheaper than a new expensive mattress. One is a mattress in a box that is one-time decompressed, pretty cool and the other option are memory foam pads, one is 1/5" and another is 2". Most reviews from target customers say that the pads are great for improving mattresses (even firm ones). I'm torn and dont know anyone personally who has used either. I've been looking around for a mattress topper and saw the tempsoma one at Sam's Club for $179...I went online and saw two out of three reviews didn't like it because it was 'too hot'. I went to a mattress store to ask, and they didn't have any toppers, but the guy recommended tempur-pedic. I looked online and see that is $532...which is way too much IMHO for a topper. So, is there a place online that reviews them, or what personal experience do you all have? I'm kind of leaning toward a memory foam type, but if you prefer another kind, please let me know why. And it super sucks. Bought it in July 2005. And in January/Feb 2006 I started to experience bad aches and pains. Over a course of several months, I went to the DR for all these mysterious pains...even had a mammogram. Nothing could be found, deducted it was stress related--because how could my new mattress cause this?? Anyway, thru massages, relaxation and a new mattress pad...I felt better. So, my mattress definitely has grooves, and dips where we sleep. We aren't heavy people. Anyway, the mattress sucks, reviews are bad. Besides rotating, does anyone have this mattress--and what have you done? I am thinking about getting one of those memory foam pads--but not sure if that will just be the same problem on top of a problem. I am looking at memory foam beds and have tried the 5.3 lb foam (store). I find it too 'hard' for me. Neither my husband or I are heavy and I didn't event dent the foam. When I tried out the sleep-number bed, I was about a 45 (which is medium soft) but the reviews weren't that great (lots of problems with air leaks, pumps, etc) I have a local mattress company that will create any type of mattress I want. I was thinking of getting a 4.0 memory foam with a plush 'regular foam' topper. Will this defeat the purpose of the memory foam? I really don't like the 'flat' feel of the memory foam - I prefer a more cushy feeling.... or do you think going with the 5.3 lb (harder) with the regular foam pillowtop would be better. Again, I don't think I'll like sleeping directly on the foam. I guess my question is, - will a buffer - such as a 'regular' pillowtop defeat the purpose of the memory foam? From what I gather memory foam is really personal - some people really don't like it -I DID try the mattress at the store (several places). I bought a full-sized serta eurotop mattress (sundown sky with pillowtop) about a year ago. I used to own a fairly firm mattress for a large portion of my life, but decided to donate it and get myself a new one.
