Dubbed as the "memory foam mattress that breathes," the Tempflow mattress offers solutions to two of the most prolific concerns by mattress users over recent years. According to Dr. Rick Swartzburg, D.C., head of Product Development for the Tempflow mattress, two of the most common complaints about memory foam mattresses are the initial chemical odor that off-gasses from the mattress and overheating of the body from a lack of breathability caused from the very dense and not very breathable memory foam. According to Dr. Swartzburg, an independent laboratory measured no V.O.C.s (Volatile Organic Compounds) outgas ratings for the Biogreen foam. "The no V.O.C. Biogreen product provides the first truly hypo-allergenic, environmentally friendly, and non-toxic memory foam available." The Biogreen layers are all approximate a 5lb. density memory foam and vary from ultra pressure sensitive to extra supportive. This more ecologically friendly "green mattress" drew the attention of The Manhattan Beach based luxury boutique Hotel Shade, from The Zislis Group, which has noted fantastic success using Tempurpedic mattresses for their patrons, but will now be constructing another Shade Hotel in Redondo Beach, Ca. that will be accredited as a LEED Platinum hotel, a recognized standard for measuring "green" building sustainability. According to owners Michael and Andrea Zislis "We have been sleeping on the Selene from Tempflow and haven't noticed a difference in feel from our Tempurpedic. We love that they have engineered their own Biogreen material, which will be a perfect fit for the new LEED Platinum Hotel in Redondo Beach". The innovation of the Tempflow airflow transfer system technology comes from the ability to allow cooler air to flow in two directions even while sleeping in the same position throughout the night. Cooler air will enter through the many small holes that penetrate through the surface of the memory foam and out through channels coming out from the lower, firmer base underneath. This effect also works in reverse, as air can enter through the sides and up through the surface holes. The unique system also allows a heat transfer as the warmer air radiates off the body and ventilates down through the holes and out the sides of the mattress. "Unlike other competitors, our patented airflow transfer system really allows the Tempflow mattress to give a full circulation and exchange of airflow, which really works to dissipate heat build-up around the body," offered Dr. Swartzburg. With NASA's created memory foam technology being used by industry giants like Tempur-pedic , Serta and Sealy , Dr. Swartzburg was pleased when Brad Bartz of Space Daily (SPX), an industry leading online space publication located in Australia, offered to test Tempflow's technology by performing a direct side by side Tempflow and Tempurpedic mattress comparison against a well known model called the Deluxebed. Mr. Bartz reports that while he did not discern much difference in the memory foam sensation and overall mattress feel between the two mattresses, after sleeping on both, he was able to verify that the Tempflow did indeed keep his body cooler overall. Hey everyone, I currently have a Visco-Pedic by Posturecraft, and its not bad. However I have always wanted a tempurpedic, and I decided I am gonna save up and finally get one this month. So I was looking around and soon found out they are definitely not cheap, and there are NO deals anywhere. I decided on the advantage or classic just because of how much cheaper they are.. Then it hit me.... eBay. So after looking at prices on eBay and googling around I found that the most recommended one is the RhapsodyBed (may have to do with Oprah's endorsement... but I like to think they dont pay her off...lol) So I found 2 deals on eBay... 1. Liquidation The guy took it down temporarily he said, but it was $2,099 and I talked down to $1,950. It is brand new, in box, however does not have a warranty. 2. Closeout http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120593331502 I was also emailing this guy, who has a 25 year warranty through Marshall Mattress (3rd party mattress warranty). I could probably talk down the price a little... So my real question here is... is this a good deal? I hear great and terrible things about tempurpedic.. but I think the terrible are people that just dont like memory foam. As for warranty... am I gonna need it? For them to give a 20 yr warranty means that they are confident they WONT have to replace it... And its prorated on top of that... Opinions? Experiences? Thanks! more

I've been reading a few threads on the internet about the 'cheaper pedic' technique, i.e. basically layering a mattress topper on top of a a thicker, about 5" foam mat. My question is, has anyone out there done this or know someone who's done it? Are these placed over a frame or on top of a mattress or on top of a mattress box spring or what? Should I get a wooden frame and then put boards under it? I'm a college student who's transferring and I want to try this as it seems it's an affordable way to sleep better, and I'm not about to pony up $3000 for a Tempur Pedic brand when ostensibly I could produce something just as sufficient. Resolved Question: How can I fix my neck and head pain?

For the last couple months, I have been waking up with neck pain. Throughout the day, I may (or may not) get occasional waves of head pain across my left and (sometimes) right temple and above my eyebrows. They aren't headaches as I would define it, just waves of pain, that may last seconds or minutes and then go away. However, when I arch my neck all the way back, or turn all the way to my right or left, I have neck pain. Every morning I wake up I am uncomfortable. I have tried buying new pillows. I am a chronic side sleeper so I have no idea how that impacts my situation. Right now, I am sleeping on a tempur pedic mattress with a memory foam pillow. I really need some relief. Any ideas how I might fix this? more

However, now that we have consistently slept in it for the past 21/2 years we both experience lower back and neck pain. We have two little children and it is getting harder to get out of bed in the morning even when we have plenty of hours to sleep at night. This question might sound too uptight but i just want to get the best possible information out there. We are going to buy 2 new mattresses, one for my husband and i because of horrible stress and sleepless nights, and one for my children. i have looked at many reviews but i just find information that contradicts itself, or isn't useful at all. and if i'm going to make an investment i want to make the right choice, so i would like to hear from personal experience which one is best. here are a few questions that i would love to have answered. 1) which one have you tried? 2) what were the results? 3) has your condition changed since trying the new mattress? 4) why did you choose one over the other? 5) what type of mattress you think has the best feedback? 6) how did you choose which one was right for you? 7) why did you buy an orthopedic mattress? thank you so much for taking the time to answer all the questions, if you can't answer them all it's fine, i just want to get the most helpful information as possible. thank you so much more

I have an old mattress, an antique but in good shape. I have a foam topper on the top. Lately, I have been sleeping in another bed in the house (which is a waterbed) but last night did not do to outside noise (I am a severe insomniac). I was sleeping VERY well in this other bed but last night I woke up all night after sleeping maybe 10 minutes at a time. I have always thought my bed was comfortable but am wondering now if my insomnia could be attributed to my bed? Are the memory foam (non Tempur Pedic brand) good? I have seen one for my size bed under 400.00. What could be my problem? I wake all night. more

I have gotten my baby addicted to our bed! She is seven months and loves our bed because we have a foam topper and it is really comfortable. At first I thought she wouldn't sleep in her bed because she likes me with her... Then i realized when she put herself to sleep and stays asleep.. in MY BED that its not me at all but my bed!! I don't care if its "not safe" because she is able to sit up, turn all directions and move around, so I think she is fine.
