Resolved Question: I'm interested in buying a new bed and I have no idea what I'm doing?
I'm interested in purchasing a new bed and any advise would be greatly appreciated. Here is my situation. I am a 23 year old male around 180 lbs. I currently sleep on a water bed (though I'd hardly call it sleeping). I have slept in this water bed for over 5 years. I work 45 plus hours a week standing on concrete all day. I get off work and have back and knee pain from standing all day. All I want is to come home and fall asleep in comfort. When ever I get into bed in always takes me AT LEAST 2 hours to fall asleep even if I'm dead tired. I can never seem to get comfortable. I like to sleep on my back but I always seems to toss and turn for hours before finally falling asleep. I always wake up feeling unrested. I've looked online and there are many brands: serta, sealy, simmons, memory foam stuff, blah blah blah etc... I have no idea whats right for me. Money is not really an option any more. I'll do whatever it takes. What bed is right for me??? firm, soft, memory foam HELPPPPPPP! I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing. Salesmen at the mall seem so uninformed and are only trying to sell me the most expensive thing they got... moreResolved Question: Anyone else who can never have a good night's sleep?
I always find something wrong when I try to sleep. I can usually fall asleep for the first few hours, but once I wake up, it's a battle to get back to sleep. Many nights I get 3-4 hours sleep in the 9 hours that I wish I could sleep. The main reason - I find something wrong with EVERYTHING! I'm too hot, I'm too cold, head not comfortable, arm not comfortable, itchy. My biggest problem is blankets. I've bought about 4 different blankets in the past 9 months trying to find that perfect blanket. I do have one great blanket but because my boyfriend won't share a blanket with me, it's difficult to fix both our blankets on the bed (probably one of the biggest problems). Even bought a $2500 bed that sucks royally. New Sealy Eurotop or something started hurting both our backs after about 3 months of owning it. The memory foam just gets all compressed so you lose that 'plush' feeling very quickly, then every night when I try to sleep, it's like the bed causes us both to 'tilt' to the outside of whatever side of the bed we are sleeping on. So instead of sleeping flat, we are sleeping on a constant tilt, which I'm sure doesn't help the comfort issue. I've decided we need a king size bed, and I guess a more 'firm' bed since the plush one is causing such pain and discomfort. Sorry I'm getting off track... Anyhow, I quite obviously have an 'obssession' problem, but was just wondering if anyone else has troubles getting comfortable enough to sleep. moreResolved Question: My Sealy Posturepedic mattress is sagging. Can you help?
I've only had it for a few months and there is an indentation where I normally lay. It feels less supportive. These are my questions: Is it supposed to do that? There is some memory foam in it so maybe it's normal...Does it matter which end of the bed my head is at? Do I flip it periodically like a normal mattress? I don't have the receipt or tags, by the way. moreResolved Question: will the springs on my sealy posturepedic get softer with time, i know the padding compresses?
how do the springs on these no flip mattresses differ from the old flip mattresses. i perfer the old flip ones. also does anyone know where i could get,buy a new flip mattress. please answer all questions. i already tried a thicker bed pad and 2" memory foam and i can still feel the hard bed and springs. the bed is only 4 months old and all ready has a groove or dip in it. the sealy i bought in 85 was great but if i would have known how bad this one is i never would have bought it.not even for a dollar. it felt good at the store. i wonder if all no flips are like this. my one i got in 85 never really changed from the first day i got it. never got a groove or dip in it even after 12 years and looked and felt better than this new one. moreResolved Question: New king size bed suggestions?
We plan on buying a new king size bed next week. I want a name brand, such as Serta or Sealy. No more than $1000. We currently have a memory foam pillow top that we paid almost $800 for 4 years ago. It has really messed up my back, WAY too soft... I want something that can be flipped and rotated. Any suggestions? And if you remember, how much did yours cost? moreResolved Question: Memory foam mattress? 2ND hand.... good or bad?
Hi i have a question about a memory foam mattress. I am bidding on a 3 year old Sealy 8 inch thick 4ft6 Mirrorform mattress. My question is do these wear over time, and will it still keep the shape of the previous persons who owned it? Or just reform to my body shape? Many thanks from CI was wondering is the denser memory foam mattresses that are around80kg m3 firmer than the less denser ones that are around 65kg m3 I know that it also has to do with how thick the memory foam is and the actual mattress depth. Many thanks from C moreResolved Question: new mattress suggestions?
I stopped at Sleepy's today and checked out some beds. I tried out the sealy posturepedic firm mattress, it felt really nice. It was on sale for $799 until Sunday. I also checked out cheaper memory foam mattresses, but I don't think I like them. The problem with my current soft bed is that I can not lie on my side too comfortably, because the bed is what you call sags, making my body curve and fall on the back or stomach. What stores can I check out for cheaper mattresses for up to $800 + foundation? moreResolved Question: Sealy Posturepedic vs. Store Brand Mattress.?
Beside the price, is there a big difference between Sealy Posturepedic or Tempur-Pedic, memory foam mattresses, compared to the generic brands that most furniture stores sell? moreResolved Question: Does anyone have problems with their sheets pulling off of 1 side of your Sealy Posturepedic memory foam bed?

I bought a Sealy Posture-Pedic memory-cell foam mattress. It currently resides on my Sealy Posture-Pedic bed base. I was examining the bed base today and realized that it's actually pretty hard. From the way it feels when you press down, it doesn't seem like it would give any extra comfort. Is there any reason why I shouldn't just throw my mattress on the ground and sleep on that? moreResolved Question: Mattress help - Memory foam or Normal Mattress?
I have been reading all these reviews about Memory foam mattress like Novaform from Costco, they are mixed reviews. On the other hand we looked at some Simmins Beauty Rest and Sealy matresses also, we like Simmons 800 count with pillow top. But its just this feeling I am not sure if I am gonna miss something if I don't buy Memory foam. Anyone who has tried both matresses please advice. Thanks moreResolved Question: Is most memory foam created equal and/or which memory foam mattress is best? Help!?
Please help!My boyfriend and i have been looking for a new mattress and are overwhelmed at the numerous types to chose from & we can't make a decision. The memory foam mattresses seemed to be the most comfy when we tested them out in store. But there are way too many different brands to choose from-for example we tried memory foam from tempurpedic, restonic, sealy, serta, comforpedic and more. They all seem to feel relatively the same but that doesn't mean they're all the same good quality.I hesitate 2 ask salesman's views cause they work on commission-ulterior motive... We can't afford the tempurpedic.R there any other memory foam mattress brands/types that are close to tempurpedic quality but with a lower price tag? Also, I am extremely frugal (cheap really),and I keep telling my boyfriend we should just get the 8 inch memory foam mattress from Wal Mart for less than $300.Anyone know if this one is decent quality?I think there's a 5 year warranty on it &that the brand is Spa Sensations.Thnx moreResolved Question: Shopping for a mattress?

I have terrible lower back pain that only seems to surface when I lie down. In other words, when I lie down I feel ok but when I get up I feel as though I've been run over by a truck and my lower back is crushed. My current mattress is a Sealy Pillow Top (about 6 years old) and I think I need a new one but there are so many options....help! Here are a few of my questions.... 1. Is an Extra Firm Mattress Best? If not, what kind? 2. What is the Best Mattress Brand for Back Pain? 3. Are Memory Foam Mattresses and Good? 4. Has Anyone Tried Bedding---Mattresses/Beds from IKEA? 5. Is it ok to buy Mattresses on line? What sites are best? moreResolved Question: What do you think of tempur pedic mattresses? I'm am considering buying the Rhapsody model.?
I currently have a Sealy posturepedic perfect about 8 yrs now. Bought a memory foam topper, 2 1/2" regular foam with 1 1/2" memory foam on top. It's comfy but I still wake up with horrific back pain that takes several hours to relieve after getting up. I tried the sleep number mattress for 2 months and it didn't help, so I returned it. I'm actually 1 wk into the trial period on the rhapsody model by tempur pedic and have just had 2 nights with no back pain on rising in the morning. I have to return it after 2 wks if I don't want to keep it. Just wanting to know if anyone else has experienced tremendous relieve with the tempurpedic. I would hate to send it back prematurely, but don't want to delay past the return date if the mattress takes longer to adjust to. And I don't want to pay this $2700 bucks if it's gonna go bad on me later before the 20 yrs. guarantee. Lot of money to pay for something! risky buy. Thanks moreResolved Question: Tempurpedic seems to be too firm for me - need advice.?
I've had the 10 Inch Tempurpedic mattress for about a month. It seems a bit too firm for me. I still wake up in the middle of the night and toss and turn. My dog also tosses and turns on it. I've taken the cover off and slept on just the foam which is a little bit better but not enough. I think I need something more softer and plushier. I think the idea of the memory foam is a good one but this one is too firm. Is there a way to make the mattress cushier or should I just take it back. If I take it back, what brands should I look into? I'm thinking about the Sealy springfree whistlewood. I LOVED the kKingsdown mattress but did not get that one because it had so many bad ratings on epinions.com. Thanks!!! moreResolved Question: How do you wash a Sealy posturpedic memory foam bed cover?
Can it be washed on hot and dried on hot? I bought it at a clearance center store, which means it was bought and returned. I want to wash it on hot but don't want to shrink it. moreResolved Question: New mattress is killing me (Sealy Springfree)?
I used to have an IKEA Sultan mattress and after 3.5 years of use it started to sag in the middle. I put a lot of time and effort in researching a new mattress and finally decided on Sealy Springfree latex (firm). When I tried it in the store it seemed like a perfect mattress and getting it at a deep discount sealed the deal for me. I got a floor model for a $1000, but now I'm regretting it since I can't take it back. After the first two days of sleeping on it, my knees and hips are killing me. I have numbness in my right leg when I lay on it, and sometimes it even feels like it's putting pressure on my ribcage, making hard to breathe. I rarely ever wake up at night, but for the last two days my sleep has been really restless. It also hurts when I sit during the day (hip, knee). I even tried it with Costco's memory foam topper, but it's the same. Is this normal? I read that it takes time to adjust to the new mattress, but I don't know how much I can take it. What should I do? HELP! moreResolved Question: Memory foam & latex mattress experiences please?
I suffer from joint & muscle pain, poor circulation, etc., and am considering a mattress such as a Sealy Sure Form. Any advice or opinions, good and bad...preferably from memory foam owners. Thank you!! moreResolved Question: What is a recommended mattress type for someone who is prone to getting down in her back? Bulging discs, etc.
In the past, I have found that the harder the mattress, the less likely I am to wake up in pain. Currently have a Sealy Posturepedic Premium mattress...the hardest I could find. But now it is approaching time to change it, and I know a lot has been invented since I last purchased. I wonder about Memory Foam. Never tried a water bed. May be other options I need to consider that would give optimum comfort. Generally, the least amont of sagging in a mattress....at the first sign of wear...I start waking in pain that lasts the entire day or longer....and escalates into not being able to stand straight. Any ideas? What have orthopedic doctors recommended? What experience have any of you had with various types...those of you who have backs that are weak like mine. moreResolved Question: What is the best mattress company???

Honestly, it's easier to buy a new car or a house than it is to buy a new mattress. We have shopped to exhaustion. I even tried to look up info online but that just made it even harder to pick one. My husband and I settled on one of the Ortho brand back supporter pillow top kind with this new memory foam. It's made by Ortho Mattress, Inc. and sold only in their own stores. It felt fine in the store but now that we got one home, it is way to firm and I am struggling with some increased body pain. Of course it was expensive ($1,400.00 on sale). The cheaper one's seemed worse... We almost bought a Sealy posturpedic but that seemed to soft and took around 28 days to deliver so my husband canceled the order..... Is there a brand out there that really helps? moreResolved Question: Can I use a mattress as a box spring for a new memory foam mattress?
I bought a queen sized sealy mattress from costco when I moved for school last year and since I have a contemporary style bed, the box spring looked funny. Thinking it was only to raise the height, I got rid of the box spring. Well now, 1 year later I realize what a mistake that was. I have constant back pain and my bed is just extremely uncomfortable. I don't mind buying another mattress now, so can I use the current mattress as a box spring? I want to buy a memory foam this time because I have lower back problems as well as alwaying waking up in the morning extremely tired. What do you guys recommend? I would as the stores but I'm not sure if they'll give advice that isn't coming from a business standpoint for them. Thanks!!!!!Does it matter if the boxspring is namebrand or not? I'm trying to find one online used. Thanks again everyone. moreResolved Question: Who has the best mattress?
