It's a queen sized mattress with latex and individual springs. I've had to move out of my apartment since I lost my job. We will get another apartment at the end of summer and take it out of storage then. But right now it's been up on its side for about 3 months. Will it be okay for a few more? Should we turn it over onto it's other side to make it fall evenly? Will we destroy this mattress by doing this to it? And if the answer is that we must store it flat right away, where the hell are we supposed to store it? The space we have is just barely big enough for all our stuff and it's costing us over $100 per month! And we don't want to store it in anyone's home to keep it free from allergens, pets, and mold and we don't want anyone else to use it... Any suggestions welcome. And if you think it's bad to store it on its side, is that because you think it would be bad, or because you actually stored a mattress on its side and it definatly messed it up? Here's the deal. I'm really active and I play tennis every day and golf alot, as well. I think the time has come for me to purchase a new mattress. I laid on 56 mattresses today (yes, I counted) and I narrowed my search to two. One: Simmons World Class Plush Euro Pillowtop Two: Stearns and Foster Plush Euro Pillowtop The Stearns and Foster feels a little firmer and slightly less comfortable than the Simmons World Class. Right now I have a Sealy Posturepedic Plush (no pillowtop) which is about 5 years old. The Simmons is a little thicker, as well. However, Sealy makes Stearns and Foster and I'm happy with all the Sealys I have owned. I have never owned a Simmons and I don't know much about them. So if you have either, or even if it's just the same make, let me know what you think about your mattress. They both MSRP for about $2200-$2500, but they would do $799 on the Simmons and $899 on the Stearns and Foster. THANKS IN ADVANCE AND SORRY IT'S SO LONG! -Ethan more

Me and my fiance went to Santa Barbara about a year ago. The hotel we stayed in had the most unbelievably wonderful mattress I have ever slept on in my life! It was so comfy he actually ripped the tag off of the mattress so we wouldn't forget the name and brand of it, haha! I told him pen and paper would have sufficed but he said that was more fun. Anyways, a year later and we really need a new bed. I have been looking for this mattress, it's a Simmons Beautyrest Felicity Plush super pillow top. But I can't find it anywhere, I've heard that they only sell these particular kind to hotels but that they also will change the name and sell it to the public also. It's the same bed, just different name. So I wanted to ask, does anyone have one of these beds or know where I can get one??? Voting Question: My new queen size platform bed is too big for my new queen size mattress?

I just bought a new platform bed, a queen size, from American Mattress and I got a Simmons Beauty Rest mattress from a private furniture store. I received the mattress first and a few days later the bed arrived and was installed. When I put the mattress on, the width is correct but there are about 4 inches of extra space left in front (or behind) of the mattress. It is driving me crazy as I currently have three pillows stuffed in the extra space. What gives? Aren't these darn things supposed to be standardized so that a queen fits a queen bed etc? Any advice? I wasn't thinking to call the store who sold me the platform bed and complain but it is already assembled in my house. The mattress is the correct 60" by 80" that a queen is suppose to be. more

For the past 15 years that I've been married, we've always had a mattress on the cheaper side since we couldn't really afford the decent ones. The mattresses never seem to last and my back is usually hurting in the mornings. Funny thing is we have one of those overstuffed cushy couches. If I sleep there I don't have back problems. I'm thinking I need a pillowtop mattress. I tried out a few mattresses the other day and the most comfy was a Super Pillowtop by Simmons Beautyrest. We have always had either a full or a queen - I also think we need to go one step bigger to King size. What kind of mattress do you sleep on? I honestly haven't had a true decent night's sleep much at all.Cottonlilly: I'm so glad to hear someone else is having similar issues like myself. So that Queensize bed - the double pillowtop your MIL bought is the one your husband likes to sleep on? My husband is 5'10 and about 225lbs I'm only 5'3 but I don't feel like we have enough room on the bed - he always asks me to scoot over (go figure he's almost twice MY size! Lol). I am curious about a mattress at Mattress Warehouse that is by Simmons but is especially made for Mattress Warehouse. I wold like to know if anyone has tried the Simmons Vilamourapt-Q-Mattress especially made for Mattress Warehouse? I have purchased 3 different beds in the past year and half but have not found a bed that I like. I have gone from the softest of pillow tops to a very firm and yet they all seem to still bother my back and pressure points, and even the soft pillowtops make my lower back feel as if it's gonna break. The last one I purchased is a very firm bed and I chose to purchase a Serta 4-inch Memory Foam Mattress Topper Contour. But I still have the pressure points going on and I feel as if I have to fight to get out of the bed because of the 4" memory foam topper. I'm open for suggestions if anyone would like to offer any. So I just bought a mattress and slept on it the first night. It is a king size Simmons beautyrest Bamako luxury plush firm. It has the individually wrapped coils, the coil count is 1024. I'm a little concerned that it doesn't seem as comfortable as I was hoping for. My question is this: I was under the impression that a higher coil count and the independent coils were always better than a bonnel system with fewer coils. Anybody think maybe I was misled and might be more comfortable on a traditional bonnel system. more

Well where do I start... This is all about my in laws. Let me start with my husbands childhood. They lived in a really crappy trailor that was falling apart but secretly saved money. They had holes in the floor and animals would just crawl through. The bathtub was in the master bedroom closet, my husband slept on a thin mattress his whole life... not on a bed or bed frame...just a mattress on the floor. They only had one a/c window unit in the living room. They had kids and only kept them up enough so they would live. My husband was in the 8th grade weighin in at 100 lbs. His daddy drank all day. And now that all the kids moved out, they built them a brand new house while everyone else had to live in the crappy trailer. So then I come into the picture in 2001. Our first christmas together, my mother n law buys me a george forman grill and gives me the richard simmons exercise game. Then tells my brother n law "my sons really know how to pick the big ones" WHEN SHES BIG HERSELF!!! So after that, my mom made me return the gift and then told her to shove it..lol. Anyhow, We got married 3 years later. I was on good terms with her but hated to be around her. So we have our first child 11 months after our wedding. She made an excuse that she couldnt get off work so she couldnt be there when i had my son. Then once she did get there, she had to leave a little while later to go get my brother n law from college which could have been done 2 days later. She only seen my son, maybe 3 times a year since then. One year, she didnt even show up for my sons bday party. So now we are in 2009, I have my daughter in June. She did actually show up to the hospital and visited the baby at home a week later, so i thought she was changing. Well now my daughter is 6 months, and the last time my mother n law seen the baby was the week after she was born. She wants hardly anything to do with my kids and then cant understand why I dont like her and dont want to be around her. Also, In july, my daughter became sick. My daughter went on an ambulance ride and the emt didnt think she would live until the hospital.we stayed in the hospital for 4 days. my husband called to tell them and not one of them called or visited to see if she was okay. I talk a lot about my mother n law but its my sister, brother and father n law too. None of them want to see my kids but only 2-3 times a year.... and only b/c it might be a holiday. My brother n law, sister n law, mother n law and father n law hasnt seen my daughter since she was 1 week old. What would you do if this were you? Im at the point now that if you dont want to see my kids, then youll never have anything to do with them again... not just when you want to see them. Am I wrong? I shouldnt have to bow down to them and Im not. PS... My mother n law thinks she knows everything and thinks shes better than everyone. I think she doesnt like our kids b/c we had our kids before the sister did and that I took her son away... Anyhow, what do you think and what would you do? Sorry its so long.Actually, I never had flaws toward that family. Im a very polite, respectful person. I never liked the family but I sucked it up and mingled with the family while we were dating but once I had a child, they didnt want anything to do with us or our kids. They barely raised their kids. Only gave them enough to eat just to keep them alive. Yeah, he is the one I married but he needed a lot of help a long the way. Hes still learning new things on how families work. Like he gets excited from my family having get together or a christmas tree, or just small things in general b/c they never did for them.Its not that I dont want them to see them, I do. Im not banning them from my house or banning them from my kids, they are choosing not to be here and not to fool with my kids. more

Mine is Dunopillo but want to probably upgrade to a high-end mattress like that of a 5* hotel quality mattress to enhance my quality of sleep. What brand, from your own experience, do you recommend? I'm looking for long-lasting quality. I know ultimately I need to go try out and sleep on them but just trying to narrow down some brands first. Resolved Question: Simmons beautyrest Pillow top mattress.. Break in -period?

My Kimble plush pillow top mattress, that I paid over $1400 was just delivered. It feels noting like the mattress I tried at the show room store. It seems much firmer and the pillow top doesn't seem soft. The show room model was perfect and the mattress was firm but conformed to my body and was very comfortable. I triple check with the store to make sure they sent me the correct model and they confirmed it is. Is there really a break in period for a pillow top mattress? I seems to me that the pillow top would come some what soft and wouldn't require months to break in.. The new mattress seem worst then the 20+ years mattress with bed topper they took away. Resolved Question: Moving to Austin at the end of December (From Seattle). Good / bad timing ? Any Moving and Rental tips?

I plan to move to Austin at the end of December to attend UT the following Spring. Yeah it is during the holiday season, because I am just planning to just drive there with my friend. That is the only good time both of us (school holiday and what not). We will probably start to drive on the 26th or 27th after Christmas. I plan to just drive there to save money on moving. I don't own too much valuables. I believe it is cheaper to throw or donate away stuffs and buy new ones in Austin than moving them. Among my most valuable stuffs are my laptop and a $400 simmons beauty rest mattress. The beautyrest bed is my headache. But I believe it is still cheaper not to move it. =( About the driving part : Google estimates 37 - 39 hours from Seattle to Austin depends on routes. I plan to take the I-5 S route south. Because of the heavier Snow in the Interiors.. And I plan to skip the mountainous Southern Oregon and NorCAL I-5. I am gonna take the hwy 101 (beach road) instead to skip the snowy mountains there. Is 3 days/2 nights for the trip a safe bet ?? Planning to drive 6-8 hrs per person per day / 12-16 hours a day total. I have driven 8 hours before, but that was summer on my trip to Norcal. Now about the Austin part: I am staying in a hotel or guest house for few days and look for rental. 1) I am projecting 5-14 days in hotel, until I found and moved in to my apt. Is this a good projection ? 2) It seems that most rentals in Austin uses leasing agents (even for regular apts) -> from what I see on craigslist. Here in the NW, u go straight to the apt manager.. leasing agencies are only reserved for upscale condos or renting houses. Why is that ? Is it a state / city law? So when u pass by an apartment .. u like it.. then are you gonna see the remax sign for rent something like that there ? 3) Will the holiday season make it more difficult to hunt for a rental ? I mean because of the holidays and office closures.. Usually regular offices are open again on the 26-30 Dec (unlike school and univ). But who know things are little different (again) in Texas ? Any tips about the trip, road safety, moving, renting etc ?? on my less than 2 years old BeautyRest ?... Thanks more

We're in the process of looking for a new mattress as our old one has become so bad we both can hardly sleep. We tried the "Flexgel" in store and thought it was pretty good. My husband seen the "Sleep number" ads and was keen to try that, but when we tried it we were really unimpressed - and we were the same sleep number anyway! We've tried in store the "Simmons Comforpedic Nassau" and both really liked it. I've been looking at reviews online and can't find too much on the "Flexgel", have found a few overseas blogs on the "Comforpedic" with mixed reviews. We're leaning towards the "Comforpedic" over the "Flexgel" as we found it a bit more comfortable, plus it has a 25 year warranty compared to a 10 year warranty. This is a big decision for us as it is going to cost us $3000 - $4000. Does anyone have either of these beds and can give us some input? It would be greatly appreciated! more

I just bought a Simmons Beautyrest plush mattress. I bought it because it felt like the right combination of firm and soft. I loved the floor model, and mine feels nice when you lay on it, but I am waking up with back pain, specifically in my lower back. I have been told that it takes a while to get used to a new mattress. Unfortunately I did not purchase a warranty or "sleep guarantee" so I don't have the option of returning this mattress. Has anyone else had this problem and will it resolve itself once the bed is "broken in" so to speak? Thanks. more

My husband and I have a regular bed for our room but are not sure what kind of bed to get for our spare room. My 18 year old brother is moving in and our parents come to visit once in a while so we need a mattress that we can put out for company (our spare room is also our office and we can't afford a normal bed) but can still stand the abuse of 18 year olds. I've looked at some like Simmons and Aerobed but I'm not sure which is a better buy since they all seem to have equal good and bad reviews. more
